Heath Continues to Shine; Ponakovs Folds to "Random Actions"

Level 15 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Ben Heath opened to 48,000 in the small blind and was called by Kannapong Thanarattrakul in the big blind. The {q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop brought a bet worth 27,000 by Heath and Thanarattrakul instantly folded.

One hand later, Aleksejs Ponakovs raised to 25,000 in the hijack. It folded to Jorryt van Hoof and the Dutchman moved all-in. Silently, without saying a word, Ponakovs talked through the combinations and settled on a fold.

"I play all-in or nothing ... lots of random actions," Van Hoof mentioned in table chat and Ponakovs replied "I remember".

Heath Closing In on Seven Figures

Level 15 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Aleksejs Ponakovs limped in from the small blind and Ben Heath checked the big blind. The flop came {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and both players checked to the {5-Spades} on the turn.

Ponakovs checked again and Heath threw in a min-bet of 12,000. Ponakovs called and the {9-Spades} paired the board on the river. Ponakovs checked once more and Heath went for a large bet of 90,000. Ponakovs used two of his time banks before eventually calling. Heath tabled {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for a full house and Ponakovs mucked.

Kisacikoglu Felted by Van Hoof

Level 15 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Orpen Kisacikoglu
Orpen Kisacikoglu

A classic race saw the short stack of Orpen Kisacikoglu go into the middle of the table against Jorryt van Hoof.

Orpen Kisacikoglu: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Jorryt van Hoof: {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}

The pocket pair remained ahead throughout the {q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Hearts} board and the comeback of Kisacikoglu was cut short outside of the money.

Nasty Blow for Greenwood Vaults Heath to the Top

Level 15 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Sam Greenwood
Sam Greenwood

Ben Heath commenced the action with a raise to 30,000 in the hijack. Sam Greenwood made it 85,000 to go on the button and Heath asked "Sam, you started with about 300?" to which the Canadian nodded.

Heath then pushed all-in with the covering stack and Greenwood snap-called all-in.

Sam Greenwood: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Ben Heath: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop seemingly locked up a large double for Greenwood but the {q-Clubs} turn provided a sweat with a potential straight out there. Sure enough, the {j-Spades} fell on the river to improve Heath to broadway and Greenwood instantly left his chair in disgust.

The {4-Diamonds} landed on the turn and both players checked to the {q-Hearts} on the river. Greenwood led out with a bet of 20,000 and Staahle raised to 40,000. Greenwood quickly called and Staahle tabled {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for two pair to win the pot.

Thanarattrakul Binks the River to Bust Mateos

Level 15 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

Adrian Mateos opened the action with a raise from early position and was called only by Kannapong Thanarattrakul in the big blind. They headed to the {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop on which Thanarattrakul check-called a bet worth 26,000. He then checked the {6-Spades} turn and Mateos bet another 60,000.

Thanarattrakul pushed all-in with the covering stack and Mateos called all-in.

Adrian Mateos: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Kannapong Thanarattrakul: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

The overpair of Mateos was ahead but Thanarattrakul spiked the {5-Spades} river, as the Spaniard groaned and pushed his chips to the dealer before silently leaving the tournament room.

Staahle Plays It Tricky

Level 14 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Jorryt van Hoof limped in on the button and Kent Staahle raised to 25,000 in the small blind. Aleksejs Ponakovs called from the big blind and Van Hoof came along as well.

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and the action checked around to the {a-Spades} on the turn. It checked to Van Hoof again who finally threw in a bet of 15,000. Staahle check-raised to 35,000 which got Ponakovs out of the hand but Van Hoof called.

The river was the {q-Clubs} and Staahle splashed in a bet of 50,000. Van Hoof used one of his time banks but decided to eventually send his cards to the muck.

Kisacikoglu Nearly Triples Up

Level 14 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Orpen Kisacikoglu
Orpen Kisacikoglu

Sam Greenwood made it 22,000 to go in the hijack and Adrian Mateos jammed for 231,000 in the cutoff. Orpen Kisacikoglu called all-in for 45,000 on the button and Greenwood immediately sighed. "Can I get a count on both please," he asked with some agony.

Ultimately, the shove by Mateos was too much for Greenwood and the Canadian sigh-folded.

Orpen Kisacikoglu: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Adrian Mateos: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}

"I had ace-queen suited," Greenwood mentioned in table chat. Neither player connected with the {8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{9-Spades} board and the kicker played to keep Kisacikoglu in contention.

Pots for Thanarattrakul and Van Hoof

Level 14 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Kannapong Thanarattrakul raised to 20,000 and Orpen Kisacikoglu as the shortest stack defended the big blind. The {q-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop was checked to Thanarattrakul, who bet the minimum and won the pot without resistance.

Aleksejs Ponakovs then raised to 20,000 and Jorryt van Hoof called in the big blind the very next hand. The flop fell {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and Van Hoof check-raised from 13,000 to 52,000. Ponakovs gave it little consideration before sending the cards into the muck.
