Welcome to Day 1a of the 2021 PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague €5,300 Main Event. Things will kick off at noon local time and finally give players a shot again at winning an EPT Main Event title since the last one took place in October 2020.
After record-breaking fields in the Eureka Main Event and High Roller, who knows what will happen here. Back in 2019, the last EPT Prague crowned Mikalai Pobal as the champion out of a field of 1,154 players. This earned him the first-place price of $1,118,277 and the beautiful trophy.
Other previous winners include Paul Michealis, Salvatore Bonavena, Arnaud Mattern, Roberto Romanello, Martin Finger, Hossein Ensan, and Jasper Meijer van Putten, while Kalidou Sow claimed the one and only PokerStars Championship Prague title.
Players will get 30,000 in chips in their starting stacks and can enter twice max. Ten levels of 60 minutes each are scheduled for today with a 15-minute break after every two levels and a 75-minute dinner break after Level 6. The late registration period will close at the start of Day 2.
After seeing players like Chris Brewer, Sam Grafton, and Teun Mulder win their titles, who will be the next to lift up the amazing trophy here at King's Casino Prague.

Among the notable early Day 1a entries are former EPT Sochi Main Event champion Uri Gilboa and EPT London runner-up Georgios Karakousis. PokerStars ambassador Ramon Colillas can also be found in the field as well, which has already surpassed more than 100 entries.

Picking up the action on the turn, Thomas Quaade checked his option out of the small blind on a short-handed table and then called a bet worth 500. The fell on the river and Quaade checked once more. His opponent made it 1,700 to go and Quaade reluctantly called to win the pot without showdown as the opponent simply mucked his cards.

Steven van Zadelhoff raised to 300 from the button and Emmanouil Chrysovergis defended his big blind.
The flop came down for Chrysovergis to check-call the 500 continuation-bet of Van Zadelhoff.
The turn was the and Chrysovergis checked again. Van Zadelhoff fired a bet of 1,000 over the line and Chrysovergis came along.
The completed the board for Chrysovergis to take over the initiative and bet 1,500. Van Zadelhoff contemplated it for a bit and then folded.

Waldemar Blex raised to 300 in the cutoff and was called by Rifat Palevic on the button, Masato Yokosawa also came along from the big blind. The flop was checked to Blex and he bet 500 to win the pot.
Palevic then raised the next hand and Yokosawa stuck around. It was Yokosawa who bet the turn and Palevic called. Yokosawa then bet the river for 600 and Palevic let go.

In a battle button versus big blind, Jean Michel Ploch took on Manuel Aljouhari and the latter bet 600 on the turn. Ploch made the call and they headed to the river. Both checked and Aljouhari tabled the , which ended up winning the pot. Both players are slightly under the starting stack in the early stages of Day 1a.
