Grieco Suddenly Bottom Stack

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Nicola Grieco
Nicola Grieco

Ryan Riess opened to 225,000 with the {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} in the cutoff and Nicola Grieco three-bet to 600,000 in the small blind with {a-Clubs}{3-Hearts}.

"You have a really good hand again?" Riess inquired and moved all in shortly after. Now it was up to the Italian, who asked: "You got a good card?"

Riess replied with a "that's a good question" and turned over his ace after Grieco had folded.

Grieco opened to 245,000 with {a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} on the button and Manig Loeser called with the {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} in the big blind. The flop brought {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Loeser checked before calling a bet of 200,000. The {2-Spades} turn was checked by both players and the {10-Diamonds} river improved Loeser to the nut flush.

Loeser bet 700,000 and Grieco folded and flashed his ace.

Riess Cracks Aces to Double

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Ryan Riess
Ryan Riess

Ryan Riess open-shoved the button in the first hand after the break for 1,925,000 and Wei Huang called in the small blind.

Ryan Riess: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Wei Huang: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

"Both my suits are live," Riess said before the flop fell {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Spades} to give Riess an open-ended straight draw. The {3-Spades} turn gave Huang the spade draw, but Riess got there with the {9-Clubs} river to double.

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Viktor Katzenberger
Viktor Katzenberger

Nicola Grieco raised to 200,000 from under the gun with {10-Spades}{7-Spades}, Viktor Katzenberger three-bet the cutoff to 520,000 holding {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Grieco peeled.

The Italian caught a piece of the {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop and check-called 380,000 from Katzenberger. Both players checked the {q-Clubs} on the turn.

On the {3-Clubs} river, Grieco checked, Katzenberger bet 950,000, and Grieco folded the best hand after burning a time bank.

Directly after, the players went on a 20-minute break.

Huang Takes From Riess

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Wei Huang raised to 180,000 with the {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} and Manig Loeser called with {a-Clubs}{10-Spades} in the big blind. On a flop of {6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, Loeser checked and called a bet of 120,000 before checking again the {j-Clubs} turn. Huang had paired up and now made it 260,000 to go, Loeser glanced at his opponent and sent his cards into the muck.

Loeser limped in with {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Ryan Riess raised to 320,000 with the {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} in the big blind. Loeser once again gave up the pot and Riess scooped the pot.

Riess and Grieco Show Their Cards

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

First to act, Nicola Grieco raised to 320,000 with the {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Ryan Riess in the small blind held the {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}. Riess used one time bank and moved all in for 1,680,000 in total.

"How much?" Grieco asked and grabbed one chip and played with it to get some reaction from his opponent. Grieco used one time bank and asked Riess whether or not he wanted a call.

"I am indifferent," Riess replied and both players agreed to show their cards if Grieco folded. That indeed followed, as Grieco showed his pocket treys and was shown the dominating pocket pair by Riess.

Two Monsters Put Katzenberger in the Lead

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Viktor Katzenberger
Viktor Katzenberger

Ryan Riess raised to 175,000 with {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} from under the gun, Viktor Katzenberger picked up {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} in the small blind and three-bet to 480,000, which Riess called.

The flop was {a-Spades}{8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and Katzenberger continued small for 260,000. Riess folded the weaker hand and Katzenberger jumped over Nicola Grieco to claim the chip lead.

In the next hand, Grieco raised to 350,000 in the cutoff with {j-Spades}{10-Spades}. Katzenberger picked up another big pair with {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} and called on the button. The flop was {6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Grieco bet 420,000, which Katzenberger called. The {a-Hearts} on the turn got checked by both players.

The {5-Clubs} on the river completed a myriad of draws and went check/check again to move Katzenberger up even further.

Riess Gets Shorter Again

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Wei Huang Chips Up
Wei Huang Chips Up

Wei Huang made it 160,000 to go with the {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and Nicola Grieco called on the button with the {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. Manig Loeser made it three-ways to the flop with his {j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and a bet of 200,000 by Huang on {a-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} took down the pot right there.

Ryan Riess limped the small blind with {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Huang raised to 225,000 with the {k-Spades}{5-Clubs} in the big blind. Riess called to see the {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop to give Huang an open-ender and Riess check-folded to a bet of 300,000.
