Thorel Takes it on the River

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Daniel Negreanu made it 30,000 to go in the cutoff and Sean Winter called on the button, as did Jean-Noel Thorel in the small blind. The flop brought {J-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs} and just Thorel check-called a continuation bet by Negreanu.

After the {A-Spades} turn, Thorel checked and Negreanu now made it 125,000 to go, which the Frenchman called. The {2-Clubs} river completed a possible flush draw and Thorel bet 150,000. That was enough to avoid a showdown, as Negreanu slid his cards into the muck.
