Smith Takes From Thorel; Chidwick From Peters

Level 1 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

In the hijack, Stephen Chidwick raised to 2,500 and Christoph Vogelsang on the button three-bet to 9,500 in order to scoop the pot uncontested.

Dan Smith then raised to 3,000 on the button in the next hand and Jean-Noel Thorel called in the big blind. The flop brought {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Spades} and Thorel checked, Smith bet 5,000 and picked up a snap call from Thorel. After the {5-Clubs} turn, Thorel check-called a bet of 15,000 and checked again the {J-Diamonds} on the river. Smith now bet 40,000 and that forced a fold from Thorel.

Shortly yfter, Chidwick raised to 2,500 first to act and Smith called in the cutoff, David Peters defended the big blind. The three-way flop of {A-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} was checked through and Peters bet the {6-Diamonds} turn for 9,000, only Chidwick called. The {Q-Spades} came on the river and both players checked. Peters was first to show and flipped over {5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, which Chidwick had beat with the {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for a pair of aces.
