More for Jozonis and Fernandez Alonso

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Javier Fernandez Alonso made it 45,000 to go from the cutoff and was called by Gavin O'Rourke on the button. Sadri Saleh three-bet to 130,000 in the small blind. Only Fernandez Alonso called to see the flop of {J-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and both players checked. The {6-Spades} on the turn paired the board and Saleh checked, then folded to a bet of 110,000 by the Spaniard.

Over on the other outer table, Tomas Jozonis welcomed Adrian Mateos, who had been moved over from the feature table and right into the big blind. Jozonis' raise to 45,000 was called by Mateos. The {A-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop brought a check, a continuation bet of 35,000 by Jozonis and a call. On the {2-Spades} turn, Mateos bet 60,000 and Jozonis called.

The {2-Hearts} river resulted in a check from Mateos and he quickly folded to a bet of Jozonis.

Akkari Can't Shake Schemion

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

Andre Akkari raised to 45,000 in early position holding {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}, Ole Schemion called from the cutoff with {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Josip Simunic peeled {7-Hearts}{5-Clubs} from the big blind.

Schemion and Simunic both hit a pair on {7-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{3-Hearts} but it was Akkari who bet 60,000. Schemion called and Simunic folded his middle pair. The {2-Diamonds} on the turn prompted a second barrel worth 140,000 from Akkari and Schemion called again.

Akkari gave up with the {5-Diamonds} on the river and checked. Schemion took the showdown and checked as well to collect the pot.

Mark Demirdijan
Mark Demirdijan

Tomas Jozonis opened for 45,000 in the cutoff and Mark Demirdjian shoved in the big blind. Jozonis got a count of 385,000 and quickly called.

Tomas Jozonis: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Mark Demirdjian: {a-Hearts}{5-Spades}

Demirdjian was dominated and things got worse on the {k-Spades}{8-Spades}{10-Clubs} flop. A couple of players celebrated the impending elimination and the {3-Diamonds} confirmed it would occur. The river was a {7-Hearts}.

Petruzzelli Below 10 Big Blinds

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

On a heads-up turn of {Q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, Dan Abouaf check-shoved into a bet of 95,000 by Federico Petruzzelli and the Italian folded to drop down further in the counts.

Petruzzelli then limped in from the small blind and Tomas Jozonis checked in the big blind. On a flop of {8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}, both players checked and Petruzzelli check-called a bet of 30,000 on the {3-Spades} turn to leave himself with 205,000 behind. The {K-Spades} appeared on the river and Petruzzelli checked once more, Jozonis made it 35,000 to go and was called to roll over {Q-Spades}{6-Spades} for a flush to take even more out of Petruzzelli's shrinking stack.

Simunic Doubles Through Huber

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Josip Simunic & Stefan Huber
Josip Simunic & Stefan Huber

Stefan Huber raised to 45,000 from under the gun with {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Josip Simunic defended his big blind with {10-Spades}{8-Spades}. The {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Spades} connected with both players and Simunic checked. Huber bet 50,000, Simunic check-raised to 175,000 and Huber called.

The turn brought the {J-Clubs} and Simunic shoved his remaining stack of 295,000. Huber didn't like it, leaned back in his chair, then stared at the board to figure it out. After using one time bank chip, Huber called and saw he was a 2:1 favorite against Simunic his hand.

Simunic needed an nine or spade if he was to survive and he and Huber, on friendly terms with each other, also discussed chop outs.

"I would really like to continue," Simunic smiled. His request got granted, as the {6-Spades} hit the felt on the river to give him the full double up.

Dimitar Danchev Eliminated in 20th Place (€27,900)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Dimitar Danchev
Dimitar Danchev

Sadri Saleh led out after defending his big blind for 100,000, which looked to be the size of the pot on {7-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Dimitar Danchev called from under the gun and left himself about 195,000 back. That went in immediately when Saleh shoved the {3-Diamonds} turn.

Danchev's {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} was best but he had a few cards to fade as Saleh had a flush draw: {k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. The river brought a {j-Clubs}, and a disappointed Danchev silently exited the tournament area.

Jozonis Pulls Further Away

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Dan Abouaf raised to 40,000 and was called by Tomas Jozonis in the small blind. Both checked the flop of {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Jozonis bet the {6-Clubs} turn for 85,000, Abouaf called. After the {K-Diamonds} river, Jozonis bet 165,000 and Abouaf let his shot clock run down to one second before tossing in the chips for a call.

Jozonis turned over the {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Abouaf mucked his cards so hard that one of them fell off the table, it was picked up and the {A-Hearts} was exposed.

Lucky Double for Akkari Through Schemion

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Andre Akkari & Ole Schemion
Andre Akkari & Ole Schemion

Andre Akkari raised to 45,000 from middle position, Ole Schemion three-bet to 155,000 in the cutoff, Akkari four-bet shoved for 780,000 and Schemion snap-called.

Andre Akkari: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Ole Schemion: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

The flop gave Akkari some more hope with {J-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. Schemion laughed out loud and clapped his hands upon seeing the flop.

The {K-Spades} on the turn didn't help Akkari but the {Q-Diamonds} on the river sure did. Straight for Akkari and a huge double-up.

O'Rourke Doubles Through Kitai

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Gavin O'Rourke
Gavin O'Rourke

Gavin O'Rourke raised first to act and was called by Javier Fernandez Alonso in the big blind. The Spaniard check-called a bet of 50,000 on the {J-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop and did so again for 125,000 on the {7-Hearts} turn. The {3-Hearts} river brought no betting action and Fernandez Alonso rolled over {J-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a flush to leave O'Rourke on 405,000.

Of those chips, 20,000 vanished as part of the big blind ante and O'Rourke then faced a raise to 45,000 by Davidi Kitai. The Irishman moved all in for 385,000 in the big blind and Kitai called.

Gavin O'Rourke: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Davidi Kitai: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

The board came {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades} and O'Rourke held to double to 40 big blinds once again.
