Paiva Doubles Through Schemion

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Tomas Paiva moved all in for 325,000 from the button. Henrik Hecklen folded the small blind and Ole Schemion asked for a count in the big blind before calling.

Tomas Paiva: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Ole Schemion: {a-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

The flop came {7-Spades}{6-Spades}{10-Hearts}. The turn {8-Spades} gave Schemion a flush draw and he let out a quiet "Come on!" of encouragement, but the river {4-Hearts} secured the double for the Portuguese player.

Anton Yakuba Eliminated in 9th Place (€52,510)

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Anton Yakuba
Anton Yakuba

It was always going to be hard for Anton Yakuba to make a comeback at the final table after his hand with Alexandre Reard left him with just three big blinds.

Despite finding an early double up, and moving all in from under the gun which got no caller, Yakuba has seen his fight come to an end.

Daniel Dvoress raised to 80,000 from the cutoff, and Yakuba moved all in for 310,000 from the button, which Dvoress called after the players in the blinds had folded.

Daniel Dvoress: {k-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Anton Yakuba: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Board: {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{7-Spades}

Yakuba had found himself in a good spot for a double, but Dvoress hit top pair on the flop. Dvoress also found the flush draw on the turn, which decreased Yakuba's outs, and the river sealed Yakuba's exit in 9th place for €52,510.

Yakuba Left Desperately Short After Reard Double

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Anton Yakuba
Anton Yakuba

Alexandre Reard raised to 85,000 and Anton Yakuba three-bet all in for 1,100,000. The remaining players folded and Reard snap-called, much to Yakuba's despair.

Alexandre Reard: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Anton Yakuba: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

There was no help for Yakuba who was left with just 125,000 after the board came {5-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}.

The next hand he doubled to around 500,000 with {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} against the {7-Spades}{2-Spades} of Henrik Hecklen in the big blind after flopping a flush on the {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{a-Spades} board.

Yakuba vs. Reard

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Alexandre Reard raised to 85,000 from the button, and Anton Yakuba defended his big blind.

The flop fell {4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, and Yakuba check-called a 100,000 bet.

Both players checked on the {a-Spades} turn before the river fell the {a-Diamonds}.

Yakuba took the betting lead and placed 325,000 into the middle with three seconds left on his shot clock.

Reard only took a few seconds to make up his mind and folded his hand, as Yakuba moved up to 1,100,000.

The board read {5-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Alexandre Reard checked to Henrik Hecklen who bet 225,000 into a pot approaching 400,000.

Reard used up one of his time extensions - players had received three more at the start of the final table - before calling.

Hecklen showed {7-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for a straight and Reard mucked.

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Alexandre Reard raised to 70,000 from the cutoff and saw Michael Addamo and Danny Tang call from the blinds.

The flop fell {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, and Reard bet 135,000 after the action was checked to him. Both Addamo and Tang called, and the turn card was the {a-Spades}.

The players checked it through to the {q-Hearts} river, and again the action was checked to showdown.

Addamo tabled {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for a pair of queens and won the pot after Tang and Reard mucked.

Max Silver Eliminated in 10th Place (€43,970)

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Max Silver
Max Silver

The action folded to Max Silver in the small blind and he raised for a large percentage of his stack, and left himself with a little behind.

Michael Addamo moved all in from the big blind and Silver called.

Max Silver: {k-Spades}{2-Spades}
Michael Addamo: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Board: {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}

"That hand is garbage!" said Silver, referring to earlier on in the day when ace-queen had been seen to be a losing hand for many players.

Addamo hit top pair on the flop, but Silver did have outs. But the turn and river bricked for the 2018 EPT Barcelona €10,300 EPT High Roller winner Silver, and the Brit saw his chances of back-to-back EPT High Roller final tables come to an end.

Silver exits with €43,970 for his efforts.

The final table of nine is now set, and a redraw will be made.
