Alexandre Reard Eliminated in 3rd Place (€244,950)

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Alexandre Reard
Alexandre Reard

Henrik Hecklen raised to 160,000 from the button and saw Alexandre Reard defend his big blind.

The flop fell {4-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{6-Spades}, and Reard check-called a 100,000 bet from Hecklen.

On the {8-Hearts} turn card, Reard checked again, and not for the first time, faced a large bet from Hecklen, this time for 875,000.

Just like in the previous struggle between the pair, where Reard secured a big pot at showdown, the Frenchman called.

The river card was the {9-Spades}, and Reard checked for the final time. Hecklen thought for close to 30 seconds before he put maximum pressure on Reard and moved all in.

But Reard needed no time to think at all, and snap-called.

Hecklen quickly tabled {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and announced he held a straight.

"Wow!" replied Reard in shock and he tabled {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for the flopped set.

Reard was eliminated in 3rd place for €244,950 and left Hecklen versus Ole Schemion for the EPT High Roller heads-up battle.

The two remaining players will now take a short break before heads-up play gets underway.

Ole Schemion

Ole Schemion opened to 205,000 and Alexandre Reard three-bet to 1,000,000. Henrik Hecklen folded.

"I can never fold this hand," said Schemion, before moving all in for 1,600,000. Reard called.

Ole Schemion: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Alexandre Reard: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}

The board ran out {10-Spades}{k-Spades}{6-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} with the French rail audibly deflated following the queen on the river which gave the German the double.

Danny Tang moved all in from the button and took down the blinds and antes. The very next hand he shoved 780,000 from under the gun and was called by Alexandre Reard in the big blind.

Danny Tang: {k-Spades}{8-Spades}
Alexandre Reard: {a-Clubs}{3-Spades}

The flop came {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{10-Spades} and although the {j-Spades} turn opened up several more outs for Tang, the river was the {7-Hearts} and Tang, who won the PSC €10,300 High Roller this time last year, was eliminated.

Reard Doubles Again

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Alexandre Reard called from the small blind, and Danny Tang checked his option in the big blind.

The flop fell {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, and Tang called an 80,000 bet from Reard.

Both players checked on the {j-Clubs} turn and the river card was revealed to be the {4-Hearts}.

Reard bet 300,000 and Tang thought for a minute. He then moved all in and Reard snap-called.

Tang flipped over {k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} for two pair, but he was behind to Reard's better two pair with {a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}.

Reard moved up to 3,500,000 and Tang was left with just 600,000.

Daniel Dvoress
Daniel Dvoress

Daniel Dvoress raised to 160,000 before Henrik Hecklen three-bet to 525,000 from the small blind. Dvoress made the call, and the flop fell {k-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}.

Hecklen bet 400,000, which Dvoress called and the turn card was revealed to be the {5-Clubs}.

Hecklen continued his aggression and bet 575,000. Dvoress had a stack worth 1,800,000 at this point and called.

The river card was the {8-Spades}, and Hecklen moved all in. Dvoress put his time-extension cards in front of his chips, and he started to count his 1,200,000 stack.

After close to a minute passed, Dvoress called.

Hecklen tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} for top two pair, and Dvoress paused before he open mucked {a-Spades}{9-Spades}.

Dvoress is eliminated in 5th place for €155,010, and Hecklen takes a huge chip lead over his three opponents.
