Damien Luis Tests Stephen Malone

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Stephen Malone
Stephen Malone

Stephen Malone raised to 100,000 in early position. Damien Luis called to his direct left, and Spyridon Koukoukis defended his big blind. On the {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop, Koukoukis checked, Malone bet 150,000, Luis called, and Koukoukis folded. The turn was the {Q-Spades}, and Malone check-called a 250,000 bet from Luis.

The river brought the {8-Clubs}. Malone checked, prompting a bet of 360,000 from Luis. Malone sat back in his chair as the camera's swarmed in to capture the situation at hand. Malone, slightly annoyed by the many noises coming from the rail, folded after a minute of thought, leaving Luis to rake in the big pot. The tournament director quickly cleared the area of any spectators afterwards.

Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

At almost the same time on different tables, Sam Grafton and Yordan Mihaylov Petrov have been eliminated.

Petrov open-shoved his last 450,000 with {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Jean-Jacques Zeitoun called from one seat over with the {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. The flop came {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and Petrov was drawing dead on the {Q-Diamonds} turn, making the {7-Diamonds} river a formality.

Grafton shoved for what looked like 575,000 from early position and Anthony Chimkovitch reshoved in the small blind for around 725,000, Stephen Malone folded in the big blind.

Grafton: {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Chimkovitch: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

Alexandru Baron Cripples and Eliminates Damien Luis

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Damien Luis
Damien Luis

Hand 1

It folded to Damien Luis in the small blind who raises to 110,000. Alexandru Baron was in the big blind and three-bet to 300,000. Luis thought before four-betting to 650,000. The action was back on Baron who five-bet all in and Luis called.

Damien Luis: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Alexandru Baron: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

The board ran out {9-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Luis was left with around 300,000 in chips.

Hand 2

In the very next hand, Damien Luis open shoved from the button for his remaining chips. Alexandru Baron called in the small blind and action was on Adam Owen in the big blind. He asked how much the all in was for and after a couple of minutes elected to fold. The cards were turned over, with Luis holding {q-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Baron {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. Meanwhile, Owen had shot to his feet and was shaking his head.

"Sevens?" asked Baron as the board began to be dealt, "Ace-Queen?" It seemed like the focus was on what Owen folded more than what the board was going to run out.

The flop came {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}, and although the {j-Clubs} on the turn meant that Luis was open-ended, the river was the {5-Diamonds} meaning the Frenchman was eliminated.
