Welcome to Day 2 of the PokerStars.es EPT13 Barcelona €10,300 High Roller
It was yet another record-breaking day at the 2016 PokerStars.es EPT13 Barcelona festival yesterday, as astonishing 569 entries were enrolled on Day 1 of the €10,300 High Roller. One season ago, the very same tournament attracted a field of 506 entries in total and the new record is likely to increase still with the registration being open until the cards are underway for Day 2 at 12.30 p.m. local time.
All players that busted once or haven't participated yet can still sign up at the Casino Barcelona to take a shot at the massive prize pool. Another 10 levels of 60 minutes each are scheduled with a dinner break after the end of level 16, and the field of 263 survivors and new entrants will be cut down considerably. The action resumes in level 11 at blinds of 1,000/2,000 with a running ante of 300, giving new additions to the field 25 big blinds worth.
Leading the field thus far is Canada's Marc-Olivier Perrault with 404,000, followed by Vicente Delgado (352,000) and Jan-Eric Schwippert (341,000). Other big stacks and notables include Iliodoros Kamatakis (283,000), Christopher Frank (257,500), Max Silver (232,700), the 2016 Aussie Millions Main Event champion Ari Engel (231,000) and Pierre Calamusa (220,500).
The red spade will be represented by Felipe "Mojave" Ramos (284,500), Yaxi Zhu (180,400), Luca Pagano (108,300), Daniel Negreanu (61,700), Jason Mercier (47,100), George Danzer (19,900) and Leo Fernandez (9,300).
As the registration is still open, the Day 2 seat draw won't be published until the cards are in the air, and payouts are expected to be finalized within the first two levels of play. The money spots will definitely be reached, but it seems unlikely that the official final table of the last eight is determined upon bagging and tagging.
The PokerNews live reporting team will be on hand to cover all the action until a winner is crowned tomorrow, Sunday August 28th, so make sure to tune back in regularly!
