Michael Tabarelli
Michael Tabarelli

Michael Tabarelli had recently doubled up, but when he just attempted to rake in another one things did not go so well. Tabarelli moved all in after Adrian Bussman had raised to 20,000 and his opponent quickly called the shove for 90,000 total.

Tabarelli: {A-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Bussman: {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Tabarelli was eliminated in 41st place. We are now down to our final five tables of eight.

Abecassis Doubles As Well

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Just like his Italian neighbor, Michel Abecassis has just doubled.

He shoved for 97,000 total and received a call from Steven Lewzey in the big blind. Lewzey, who was a tiny bit late this morning, had {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts} and was racing against Abecassis' {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}.

What started out as an even match up would soon be pretty uneven. The {8-Spades}{3-Spades}{5-Hearts} on the flop dramatically improved the Frenchman's hand and the {7-Hearts} on the turn left his opponent drawing dead. Again the river was dealt just for good measures; {6-Diamonds}.

Like Michael Tabarelli, Michel Abecassis is still not a big stack but he is still in.

Tabarelli Doubles

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Fabio Sperling in the hijack opened for 22,000 and called as Michael Tabarelli shoved from the small blind for 43,000.

It was an unfair match up as Sperling had {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} while Tabarelli had to work with just {K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}.

But in poker anything can happen and the flop proved just that: {K-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. The {K-Hearts} on the turn sealed the deal and the {3-Spades} on the river was just there to make things official.

Michael Tabarelli is still short, but he's still in!

Korenev Pulls Off a Double Check-Raise

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Roman Korenev
Roman Korenev

Roman Korenev just pulled off something you don't often see this deep in a tournament with more than €800,000 for first.

Korenev raised to 20,000 from the hijack and he was three-bet to 42,000 by Sebastian Trisch on his immediate left. Korenev made the call and the flop brought out {J-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and the Russian pro opted to check.

Trisch bet 53,000 on the flop and Korenev reached for more, putting in a check-raise to 124,000 total. Trisch made the call and on the turn the {3-Hearts} hit and Korenev opted to check once more. Trisch wasn't done betting just yet as he put 94,000 into the middle.

Korenev went into the tank for a bit before sliding out another check-raise, this time worth 214,000. Trisch had to give this some serious thought, but ultimately he made the call creating a pot worth well over 700,000 chips.

The river completed the board with the {7-Diamonds} and Korenev moved all in putting Trisch at risk, if he wanted to make the call. Trisch quickly folded and Korenev raked in a huge pot without showdown.

Three Way All In, No Elimination

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Michael Tabarelli pushed all in fro the cut off and was met by not one, but two calls. Michel Abecassis on the button reshoved and Dmitry Morozov called from the small blind.

Michael Tabarelli: {K-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Michel Abecassis: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Dmitry Morozov: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}

The board brought {K-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs} and everyone stayed in the tournament. Morozov got his 88,000 times three. Tabarelli lost the main pot but one the very small side pot and Abecassis had both players covered and was left with just 39,000.

The next hand Abecassis doubled when his six-eight suited improved against ace-nine. All three players still in the tournament!

Kings Hold Up For Lewzey

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Dmitry Morozov just three-bet to 50,000 after Steven Lewzey had raised, and it became clear that the initial raiser was not going anywhere. Lewzey moved all in for 288,000 and Morozov tanked for quite a while before making the call.

Morozov: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Lewzey: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The board ran out {7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and Lewzey watched his kings hold up. Morozov was left with 80,000 chips and he's now the tournament short stack.
