Yan Doubles; Romanello Out

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Roberto Romanello
Roberto Romanello

We saw the double up of David "MissOracle" Yan, who raised the small blind to 12,000. In the big blind, Michael Tureniec put him all in and Yan called for 83,000 with the {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. Tureniec improved with the {K-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} on the {5-Hearts}{J-Spades}{K-Diamonds} flop but the {10-Diamonds} turn completed the nut straight for Yan. The {8-Diamonds} river completed the board and the Day 1B chip leader is still in it to win it.

Roberto Romanello didn't have so much luck. In late position he raised and Raul Mestre defended his big blind. On the {9-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop both players checked. The {4-Clubs} turn triggered a bet from Mestre for 20,000 and Romanello moved all in for 94,000. Snap call by the Spaniard:

Mestre: {6-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Romanello: {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Only a ten could save the Welshman, but the {6-Spades} river wasn't what he was looking for.
