Kanit Fires, Schemion Picks It Up

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Mustapha Kanit just raised to 48,000 three times in a row. In the first hand he took down the pot against Philip Sternheimer with a 51,000 continuation bet on the {8-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop and Sternheimer folded.

In the second hand, Max Greenwood check-called the 51,000 continuation bet on the {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop and then check-folded to the second barrel after the {3-Diamonds} turn.

The third hand saw Ole Schemion one seat over and Max Greenwood in the small blind call. On the {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop the action was checked around. Once the {5-Diamonds} turn showed up, Greenwood bet 95,000 and Kanit called. Schemion raised to 263,000 with 530,000 behind and took down the pot.

Kanit vs. Sternheimer

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Mustapha Kunit opened for 50,000 from the cutoff and Philip Sternheimer looked him up from the small blind. After the big folded, the flop came down {5-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and both players checked. The {7-Hearts} turn saw Sternheimer bet 60,000 and then call when Kanit popped it to 141,000.

When the {A-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, action once again went check-check and Sternheimer tabled the {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for a flopped set. Kanit mucked his cards.

Griffin Benger Eliminated in 6th Place (€60,700)

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Griffin Benger

Griffin Benger won't add a Slyde watch to his Shamballa bracelet, at least not today. In the first hand of the new level he folded his small blind and then moved all in the very next hand from the button. Mustapha Kanit in the small blind folded but Ole Schemion made a quick call.

Benger: {A-Spades}{5-Hearts}
Schemion: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

After the {9-Spades}{4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop, the Canadian needed a five or runner-runner straight cards to stay alive. The {8-Spades} turn meant a nine or four would have given him a chop as well. However, the {J-Hearts} on the river was of no help and he shook hands with all opponents and wished them good luck before exiting the tournament area.

Couple of last hands in Level 21

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Griffin Benger shoved the button and the small blind as well as Ole Schemion folded, the German flashed {9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}.

One hand later it was the German himself that shoved into an open raise from Mustapha Kanit and was not called either.

The last hand saw Kanit raise to 40,000 from under the gun, Philip Sternheimer on the button called and all other opponents folded. On the {3-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop, the Italian continued for 41,000 and was called. Both then checked the {4-Diamonds} turn and Sternheimer got 70,000 value on the {3-Hearts} river. Kanit check-called and mucked against {Q-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

Greenwood Continues to Build

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Max Greenwood opened from the hijack for 47,000 and received a call from Ole Schemion in the big blind. When the flop fell {4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, Schemion checked and Greenwood continued for 55,000. Schemion responded with a check-raise to 138,000, Greenwood called, and it was off to the {7-Diamonds} turn.

Schemion slowed down with a check, and Greenwood fired another 155,000. It did the trick as Schemion released his hand.

Tamer Kamel Eliminated in 7th Place (€47,800)

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Tamer Kamel
Tamer Kamel

After a preflop raise from Max Greenwood in under the gun and one cold call, Tamer Kamel defended his big blind. On the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop the Brit check-raised all in for ~ 300,000 and Greenwood snapped him off with the {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}.

Kamel was in desperate shape with the {A-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and the miracle never happened on the {6-Diamonds} turn and {5-Clubs} river. Greenwood is our dominating chip leader at the moment.
