Ka Kwan Lau Doubles Up

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Ka Kwan Lau
Ka Kwan Lau

Georgios Sotiropoulos raised to 100,000 from the hijack with {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} then from the button Ka Kwan Lau three-bet to 225,000 with {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. "Unless you're trying to induce a light four-bet I prefer to just shove here with his stack," said Eugene Katchalov.

It folded back to Sotiropoulos, "Obviously ace-jack isn't a great hand but I don't know what I'd do here. I wouldn't blame him for shoving here," said Katchalov.

That's exactly what Sotiropoulos did and Lau then called all-in for 1,075,000 total. The {6-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}{Q-Spades}{9-Spades} board doubled Lau to 2,260,000 and dropped Sotiropoulos to 3,160,000.

Jacks vs. Sevens vs. Sevens

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Max Silver opened wit {J-Clubs}{J-Spades} under the gun to 110,000. He received calls from Chidwick with {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and Lau in the big blind with the other two sevens ({7-Clubs}{7-Spades}).

All players checked the flop ({4-Spades}{K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}) and turn ({9-Hearts}). The {Q-Diamonds} on the river paired the board and Lau checked again. Silver dared a 90,000 bet now and just Chidwick made the call. "stevie444" had to muck though as Silver showed him the better hand with jacks and queens with a king kicker.

Another Chopped Pot

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

From under-the-gun Zdravko Duvnjak raised to 100,000 with {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, Georgios Sotiropoulos called with {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} on the button and Ka Kwan Lau did likewise from the big blind with {9-Spades}{5-Spades}

On the {3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop Duvnjak continued for 115,000 and Sotiropoulos was the only caller. On the {9-Clubs} turn Duvnjak fired again, this time for 210,000 and Sotiropoulos called. "I don't know how much I like the second barrel from him," said Eugene Katchalov in the booth. "He's betting small, 210,000 into 600,000. Maybe he's hoping to fold out two sevens, two fives or ace queen with no clubs. That's a lot of things to hope for."

The {9-Hearts} completed the board, "That's his get out of jail card," said Katchalov. Both players checked and they chopped the pot.

Jorma Nuutinen Eliminated in 8th Place (€83,600)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Jorma Nuutinen
Jorma Nuutinen

Jorma Nuutinen opened the hijack to 100,000 with {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. Right next to him it was Stephen Chidwick in the cutoff who bumped the action to 225,000 with {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}, the same hand. The button and small blind folded but Julian Track was at it again with tens in the big blind. Again he cold four betted to 650,000, this time with {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

Action was right back on the Finnish player and he shoved all in for 1,810,000. Stephen Chidwick thought about it for some time but eventually folded. Action back on chip leader Julian Track who wasn't about to rush his decision. He wasn't happy with the shove and needed some time. He called in the end, but wasn't happily slamming his cards on the table like he did yesterday.

A coin flip situation again for Track and again he wouldn't get into trouble: {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. Nuutinen needed some runner runner but was already drawing dead after the {7-Hearts} hit the turn. The {5-Clubs} on the river was just there to make it official, Nuutinen out first on the final table.

Nuutinen has three EPT Main Event cashes to his name now, all three of them here in Prague:

Schemion Adds a Million

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Max Silver opened with {J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} under the gun plus two for 110,000. Silver was just the first player to get involved because two other players had something to say with their chips as well. Ole Schemion made it 255,000 on the button with {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and the small blind folded. Julian Track in the big blind made it 875,000 with {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}.

The first cold four bet of the day was there and Silver quickly folded. Schemion wasn't willing to do the same though with a powerhouse like his. He shoved all in for 2,425,000 and put maximum pressure on Track. The German chip leader had a lot of trouble with his decision and shook his head more than once. Finally he laid down the treys, giving Schemion a million without showdown.
