Track Four-Bets

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Julian Track raised to 105,000 from under-the gun+1 with {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Max Silver three-bet to 265,000 from the cut-off with {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}.

It passed back to Track, "I would never fold, but I would call," said Eugene Katchalov of Track's decision. But Track responded with a four-bet to 675,000 "It's a problematic four-bet," said Katchalov. "What do you do if you get five-bet, I prefer to play post-flop poker. He's playing his tens like they're aces."

Eventually though Silver laid it down and Track took the pot.

Small One for Nuutinen

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Jorma Nuutinen's upward trend continues. He raised to 100,000 from the hi-jack with {A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, Georgios Sotiropoulos called from the small blind with pocket sevens and Julian Track called from the big blind with {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

The flop fell {A-Clubs}{6-Spades}{8-Hearts}, it checked to Nuutinen he continuation bet 140,000 and took the pot. "I don't like that," said Katchalov of Track's fold. If you're going to defend with that hand you can't give up on that board."

Chidwick Makes his Flush

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Ka Kwan Lau opened under the gun plus one with a min-raise to 100,000 and was soon facing a three bet by Stepehen Chidwick on the button. Lau had opened with {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs} while Chidwick had some creativity up his sleeve as he had made it 225,000 with {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Lau made the call and a flop appeared:

{K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

Ka Kwan Lau checked to Chidwick who made a 310,000 continuation bet. Bottom pair and a flush draw for Chidwick and top pair for Lau, which made for an even odds situation. Lau was the favorite when the {A-Spades} hit the turn but he had no way of knowing that of course. He did check call another 475,000 which made for a 1,200,000 pot going to the river.

The {9-Diamonds} gave Chidwick the flush and he shoved all in for 1.4 million effectively. Ka Kwan Lau had checked and needed some time to make his decision. He eventually folded after some minutes of thinking.

Chidwick now has 20 percent of the chips in play.

Duvnjak Moves In

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

From under-the-gun+1 Georgios Sotiropoulos raised to 100,000 with {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts} then from the cut-off Zdravko Duvnjak moved all-in for 1,005,000 with {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}. "He's shoving over an early position open so it's a little bit risky but you need ace-jack or better and probably sixes or better to call," said Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov who's now in the commentary booth.

It passed to Stephen Chidwick in the big blind, he tank folded and Georgios Sotiropoulos did likewise.

Nuutinen Doubles Through Silver

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Jorma Nuutinen

Max Silver oepned the hijack to 80,000 with {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. Next door neighbor Jorma Nuutinen shoved all in from the cut off with {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and all players quickly folded to let Silver have the decision again. He thought for a little bit before calling.

Nuutinen was in the lead, but not by much. The flop made things pretty scary for the Finnish player: {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. Kings and jacks weren't direct outs anymore for Silver, but all the clubs in the deck would guarantee him the win in the hand and the first scalp of the day.

The {8-Diamonds} on the turn was a complete blank though and equity was shifting even more to Nuutinen. The black ten on the river might have scared him for a second but fortunately for him it was the {10-Spades} and not the {10-Clubs}.

Nuutinen doubled to 1.7 million (42 big blinds), Silver still has 4,985,000 (125 big blinds) left.

Lau Takes One From Silver

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

From under-the-gun+2 Ka Kwan Lau made it 80,000 to go with {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and Max Silver called from the cut-off with {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

On the {10-Spades}{6-Spades}{K-Spades} flop Lau bet 105,000, "I think Max is going to peel here very often," said Stapleton and indeed Silver made the call. The {5-Diamonds} hit the turn. Lau didn't slow down he fired 210,000 into the pot and once again Silver called.

The {Q-Spades} fell on the river, "he can certainly turn his queen into a bluff, but he does have reasonable showdown value," said Stapleton. Lau came out firing though, betting 380,000. "Looks like he's done a pretty good job of putting Max to a decision here, give Lau credit for being able to bet this," said Stapleton.

Eventually Silver folded his hand and Lau took the pot.
