"Once A Day I Can Do That"

Denys Larin was under the gun and opened for 3,200, which Michael Benvenuti called from middle position. Robin Ylitalo then opted for a three-bet to 9,200 from the cutoff, both his opponents called, and three players saw a flop of {Q-Spades}{2-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}.

Two checks put action on Ylitalo, and he put out a bet of 12,000. Two folds ensued, and Ylitalo tabled {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} as he was pushed the pot. "Once a day I can do that," he said with a big smile.

Lodden's Class Shining Bright

Johnny Lodden
Johnny Lodden

Johnny Lodden is in the mood where's it best not to bluff him too much. Just ask Jose Alastuey.

The Team PokerStars Pro raised to 3,200 from mid position and was only called by Alastuey on the button. The flop fanned {6-Spades}{2-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and Lodden continued for 3,000. Call.

Lodden fired for 5,500 on the turn but soon faced a raise up to 12,200. Lodden called and then checked to his opponent on the {7-Diamonds} river. Alastuey gave up and opened {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs} which lost out to the Norwegian's {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}.

Engel Playing Well And Running Well

Any poker player will tell you that when they are playing well at the same time as running well it is a deadly combination. That is something that is happening to Ari Engel right now; it is as if he can do no wrong!

Niclas Martinsson opened in the hijack with a raise to 3,300 and Engel defended his small blind by three-betting to 7,300. Martinsson called and it was heads-up to the {5-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop. Engel lead out for 6,700 and Martinson wasted no time in calling.

The {a-Spades} turn looked like the perfect card to fire a second barrel on and Engel though so; he made it 9,700 to play and once again Martinsson called.

Completing the board was the {7-Diamonds} and Engel fired again. This time his bet was a much more substantial 17,400, but that did not stop Martinsson snap-calling.

Martinsson: {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Engel: {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Engel won with his straight and passes through the 200,000 chip barrier.

Kudlicka Crushed

Lubomir Kudlicka's tournament has come to an abrupt end despite the Slovakian getting the last of his chips in good.

Marc-Andre Ladouceur opened to 3,200 from middle position and Kudlicka three-bet all-in two seats down, his stack being 16,400. However, before Kudlicka acted, Jan Suchanek acted out of turn and called. As Kudlicka then shoved, Suchanek was allowed to take his chips back; something he seemed relieved about.

Ladouceur called, the cards were flipped onto their backs and the community cards put on show.

Ludouceur: {K-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Kudlicka: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}

Board: {3-Hearts}{9-Spades}{j-Clubs}{5-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The ten on the river sealed Kudlicka's fate and ejected him from the tournament. We are now down to 280 players in the Main Event.

Misread From Eames

John Eames paid off Glen Cymbaluk on the river in a hand after miss-judging what the Canadian might've been holding.

Around 35,000 had already ventured into the middle by the time the final board was left as {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. Cymbaluk led for a relatively small 8,500 and after some chitter-chatter Eames threw in the calling chips.

"Diamonds," said Cymbaluk and revealed {q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for a flush. Eames seemed surprised and mucked.

Tremel Runs Kings Into Aces

After someone had opened and another player called, Maurizio Braco three-bet to 9,000 from the button. The small blind folded, and then Markus Tremel moved all in from the big blind for right around 40,000. Both the original raiser and the caller folded, and Braco snap-called.

Showdown
Braco: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}
Tremel: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

It was a cooler for Tremel, who had run the second-best hand in poker to the best. The board ran out a clean {A-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} and a disappointed Tremel exited the tournament floor.

Another Big Pot for Ladouceur

After picking up a couple of pots before the break, Marc-Andre Ladouceur found himself involved in a 35,000-chip pot with Dean Lyall. The board was {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, Lyall checked, and Ladouceur fired 21,300.

Lyall tanked for a bit, then made the call. Ladouceur turned over {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for kings and nines, and took down the pot.

Lyall recorded a knockout on the very next hand when a short-stacked player open-shoved. Lyall woke up with {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}, which crushed his opponent's {j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, and the board ran out {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs}{q-Hearts}.

Ladouceur On The Rise

In a hand just before the last break, Marc-Andre Ladouceur raised to 2,500 from the hijack and received calls from both the small and big blinds. Action went check-check on the {A-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} flop, and Ladouceur promptly bet 2,300. Only the small blind made the call, and then he check-called a bet of 4,900 from Ladouceur on the {2-Clubs} turn.

When the {4-Spades} peeled off on the river, the small blind checked for a third time and Ladouceur fired out 12,100. The small blind made the call, but mucked when Ladouceur tabled {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}. Ship the pot to the Quebecer.
