Barnes Crippled; Yaroshevskyy Doubles

Igor Kurganov raised to 16,000 from middle position, and Brandon Barnes reraised to 35,000 in the cutoff seat. Action folded to Igor Yaroshevskyy in the big blind, and he reraised to 55,000. Kurganov folded, but Barnes made the call to take a flop.

Barnes had position on Yaroshevskyy as the dealer spread out the {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop. Yaroshevskyy tossed out 35,000, and Barnes made the call.

The {10-Diamonds} came on fourth street, and Yaroshevskyy slid all his chips forward for an all-in bet worth 139,000. With a stack of 158,000, Barnes called. He tabled the {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for the low end of the straight, but Yaroshevskyy held the high end with the {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}.

The river ended the hand with the {4-Diamonds}, and Barnes was crippled all the way down to just 19,000 in chips.

Roed's Mistake

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

On the first hand of the unofficial final table, Joel Nordkvist raised to 16,000 from middle position. Action folded to Kent Roed on the button, and he seemed to make a mistake. He announced "raise" and tossed out 16,000, but didn't see Nordkvist's raise. He was forced to make it 24,000. Action folded back to Nordkvist and he called.

The flop came down {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, and both players checked. The turn was the {6-Clubs}, and Nordkvist led for 20,000. Roed called.

The river was the {7-Diamonds}, and Nordkvist check-folded to a bet of 20,000 from Roed.

Mikalai Pobal - 10th Place

With the board reading {J-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {A-Spades}, 50,000 in the pot and three players still in play Benny Spindler bet 30,000 in the cutoff seat and Mikalai Pobal raised to 72,000 on the button. Joel Nordkvist made the call in the small blind, Spindler folded and the two saw the turn go {J-Spades}.

Pobal shoved his remaining stack and Nordkvist made the call.

Pobal: {A-Diamonds} {9-Spades}
Nordkvist: {A-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}

Pobal was crushed to see Nordkvist's jack and left the table before seeing the {4-Spades} being dealt on the river.

Not King-Six

Joseph Cheong
Joseph Cheong

Brandon Barnes raised pre-flop to 16,000 in the cutoff seat and Joseph Cheong three-bet to 46,000 in the big blind. Barnes made the call and both players saw the dealer open {8-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} on the flop.

Cheong checked and Barnes bet 30,000. Cheong answered with a call and the dealer flipped the {K-Diamonds} on the turn. Both players checked and saw the {K-Clubs} come on the river. Cheong instantly announced an all in for 265,000 putting Barnes under huge pressure. After struggling for a minute or two he finally opted to fold.

Cheong flashed a six as he mucked his hand and Barnes asked, "king six?" "Not king six", Cheong replied.

Roed Doubled Through Yaroshevskyy

Kent Roed
Kent Roed

From the cutoff seat, Philipp Gruissem raised to 16,000. Kent Roed reraised all in from the small blind for 108,000, and Igor Yaroshevskyy called from the big blind. Gruissem folded.

At the showdown, Yaroshevskyy turned over the {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}, but was dominated by Roed's {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. The flop further dominated Yaroshevskyy when the {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{4-Spades} rolled out. From there, the {7-Hearts} and {6-Clubs} finished out the board on the turn and river, respectively, and Roed doubled up.
