Break it Down

Level 30 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

We're on a 15-minute break. Back with some fresh chip counts and another round of action shortly.

Last Pot to Stoenescu

Level 30 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Andrei Stoenescu opened to 200,000 from the button, and Fraser MacIntyre defended his big blind.

The flop came out {Q-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {2-Clubs}, and MacIntyre check-called 230,000 more. The two men would check it down behind the {5-Diamonds} turn and {4-Spades} river.

"Five," Stoenescu announced, holding his cards. When MacIntyre froze, the Romanian tabled his {A-Hearts} {5-Spades}, and it was good enough to take the last little pot of the level.

Macintyre Versus Jensen

Fraser Macintyre and Frederik Jensen played out the first two hands of three handed play, each winning one hand.

Jensen opened to 200,000 from the button to face a 450,000 three-bet from Macintyre in the small blind. The Scot folded to a 980,000 four-bet though.

The next hand Macintyre opened to 205,000 and called when Jensen three-bet to 490,000. The flop fell {3-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} and Jensen continued for 335,000. Macintyre called to the {10-Clubs} turn where both players checked. The river came {5-Diamonds} and and Jensen checked to face a relatively small 475,000. The Dane took his time, has a chat with his opponent, before he elected to fold.

Bruno "Kool Shen" Lopes Eliminated in 4th Place (€140,000)

Bruno Lopes - 4th place
Bruno Lopes - 4th place

Under the gun, Fraser MacIntyre opened to 200,000, and Bruno Lopes three-bet shoved again. He had worked his stack all the way up to 1.72 million by that point, but his bid for a comeback was soon put in jeopardy. Small blind Andrei Stoenescu re-shoved, MacIntyre folded, and the cards were on their backs.

Showdown
Lopes: {A-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}
Stoenescu: {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}

Lopes can't be faulted for his play, but he was unlucky enough to run into a monster. The {7-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {2-Spades} flop was a pretty big miss, but the {3-Diamonds} turn was the best non-ace in the deck. Lopes suddenly had a world of outs with one to come. He needed an ace, five, or diamond to stick around.

River: {6-Spades}

Close isn't close enough, and Lopes' EPT Madrid Main Event has come to an end. It's his largest live score and his second six-figure win this year, and it moves him up over $500,000 in career winnings.

Lopes Doubles Up

Bruno Lopes raised all in from the small blind with {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts} and Andrei Stoenescu quickly called in the big blind holding {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. The board ran out {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Lopes doubled up to 1.2 million. The Frenchman then pushed the next hand and pushed over a Frederik Jensen raise in the hand after that, he's up to almost 2 million now.

Lopes Doubles Jensen After Getting It In Good

Bruno Lopes has to start all over again now after he doubled up Frederik Jensen. He played a monster hand slow but was ultimately undone by the deck.

He was on the button and raised and called when Jensen three-bet from the button. Around a million chips were in the middle when Jensen led for 270,000 on the {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop. Lopes raised to 650,000 and called quickly when Jensen shoved for 2,610,000.

Lopes tabled {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, ahead but not by a lot of Jensen's {6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. The board ran out {5-Clubs}{8-Spades} to make the Dane's two pair. It gave him the monster pot and the chip lead for the first time today.

Rap With Your Heart

Level 30 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Bruno Lopes must've had spinach for dinner as he's showing strength since returning. It helps to hit hands as well though.

The action folded to him in the small blind and he raised to 225,000. Andrei Stoenescu was in the big blind and called to an {8-Hearts}{q-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop. Lopes continued for 250,000 and the Romanian called before both checked the {2-Hearts} flop. The river came {7-Hearts} and Lopes found his betting shoes again as he fired 375,000. Stoenescu tanked, called, and mucked upon seeing Lopes' {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} for the nut flush.

Lopes Gets Squeezy

Under the gun, Andrei Stoenescu raised to 200,000, and Fraser MacIntyre flatted in the small blind. In the big, Bruno Lopes began stacking out a reraise. He made it 580,000 total, and his two opponents surrendered in turn. And in relatively short order.

Lopes is now more than a million chips to the good since the dinner break. He's quickly closing in on the 4-million chip mark.
