Two pots in a row swelled to reasonable proportions and were won by Toby Lewis who just fired again and again getting a fold from Martin Jacobson on the river. The first was smaller, only 340k total, and it was Lewis' 250k bet on the river with the board standing which won that one (Jacobson had called 120k on the turn).
The second saw Lewis on the button instead of betting out from the big blind like last time, and he raised, bet 120k on the flop when Jacobson checked, and 300k on the turn. Both of these bets having been called after suitable chip-riffling had taken place, Lewis found another check to him on the river. Now a proper deep reach - 1,175,000. This bet was uncalled and the UK rail (now with a supporting cast of beers everywhere) gave him a cheer.
The early heads-up confrontations have mostly gone Toby Lewis' way - of the first five hands, Jacobson won only one of them - and the stacks are now getting towards even with Jacobson on 6.3 million and Lewis on 5.2 million.
The most interesting of those hands involved Jacobson raising his button and Lewis calling to see a flop. Lewis check-called 155,000 from Jacobson.
Lewis checked again on the turn and this time the bet from Jacobson was 275,000. Again, Lewis called.
Both players checked the turn and Jacobson just mucked his hand. Lewis got the pot without having to show his hand, and Lewis' recovery continued.
Hovering around the million chip mark, Jason Lee (who'd been picking his spots well today) knew he'd have to do something to get back in with a shot to take the title, and started to make his move. On the button there was shoving twice in a row - the first time Martin Jacobson gave him a minute-long-plus sweat before allowing him the blinds, but the second time he snapped with . Lee tabled and his rail rallied, Annette Obrestad announcing, "You can't lose, you've got it in behind!"
That proved to be false, however, as the flop brought (and cries of 'Deuuuuce!' from his loyal supporters), the turn a and the river the .
Nearly €200k for a week's work in the sun isn't bad, however.
Toby Lewis has become accustomed in the last day or two to being on or near the chip lead, and, though now firmly in second place, is not easily acquiescing to Martin Jacobson.
Lewis made it 135,000 from the small blind only for Jacobson in the big to make it 300,000 to go. Lewis tanked for a while, staring blankly into space, and then made it what looked like 635,000 by way of a four-bet. Jacobson dwelled up for a few minutes, but eventually relinquished his hand to cries of, "Ship it!" from the beered up British rail. That put Lewis at 4.3 million.
The next hand Jacobson opened for 110,000 on the button and this time Lewis made it 290,000 from the big blind. Jacobson called, and they saw a flop. They didn't get to a turn, though, as Lewis bet out 325,000 and it was enough to push the Swede off the pot.
We may have lost two of our three representatives at this final table, but we could still be looking at British champion here today. Lewis is up to 4.6 million, Jacobson is only a little ahead on 5.9 million.
Sam Trickett will probably want to look back on this as a day he'd rather forget. Toby Lewis had opened preflop to 110,000 before Martin Jacobson 3-bet to 265,000, it passed to Trickett in the big blind who tanked for two minutes before moving all-in for 1,370,000.
Lewis folded quickly but Jacobson was much more reluctant to give it up and you got the feeling that he wanted to call almost against his own better judgement. Finally he slid in the chips.
Trickett, "You got sixes or something?" Jacobson shook his head turning over while Trickett turned over .
"I've got them, it's a lock!" said Trickett sounding fatalistic, while the cry of "Deuuuuuccceeee!" came from the rail.
The flop brought other ideas though coming and already Trickett was drawing thin. The crossbar was hit on the turn but the river was the and Trickett was out.
Trickett was involved in seven all-in showdowns today, he was ahead in all but one (JJ vs QQ) - he lost all but one of them.

Teddy Sheringham, handshakes all round
Just moments after railer/supporter/heckler James Dempsey told Teddy Sheringham, "Come on, get it in and we'll go play golf!" he did in fact get involved in a pot which ended up being his last. He raised preflop to 125k and button (and recent climber) Martin Jacobson made the call.
Flop: . Check-check.
Turn: Now Sheringham bet out 275k, and Jacobson raised to 590k. Fairly quickly Sheringham announced, "All in," and in the same second Jacobson called.

The river looked pretty bricky and that was the end of another deep run for the famous footballing player, while Jacobson has seemingly come from nowhere to storm the chip lead with 4,700,000!
Martin Jacobson raised to 110,000 and the now-back-to-luckless Sam Trickett called on the button. We can tell you right now without spoiling anything, this hand was not going to go Trickett's way.
The flop came down and Jacobson bet out 140,000. Trickett called, and they saw the turn - the Jacobson bet out 170,000 this time, and again, Trickett flat-called.
The river was the and Jacobson paused for a moment before betting out 510,000. "Call," sighed Trickett, but nodded and mucked when Jacobson turned over for the nut flush. He shrugged apologetically.

On the turn, the Swede checked once more and Trickett put out a bet of 325,000, once more Jacobson making the call.
The river was a seemingly innocuous and Jacobson now checked for a third and final table. Trickett pulled out the last of his pink 25k chips along with a stack of yellow 5k chips and bet 620,000 leaving himself less than a million behind.
This bet seemed to really worry Jacobson who thought for a full three minutes before releasing his hand. Trickett tilt or a genunine hand, either way he's recovered much of what he lost before.
