Pagano Back To a Million

Luca Pagano and Oleksandr Vaserfirer saw a flop in an unraised pot small blind versus big blind. Pagano was first on the flop of {8-Spades} {7-Spades} {6-Spades} and checked. Vaserfirer bet 24,000 and Pagano called.

The turn was the {4-Hearts}. Pagano check-called a bet of 50,000 from the chip leader, Vaserfirer.

After the river came the {8-Hearts}, Pagano counted out 120,000 and slid the bet into the middle. Vaserfirer folded right away and Pagano won the hand.

By scooping that pot, Pagano moved to over one million chips, sitting at 1.070 million.

Clayton Mozdzen Eliminated in 6th Place (233,750 PLN)

Clayton Mozdzen - 6th Place
Clayton Mozdzen - 6th Place
Clayton Mozdzen opened the pot to 70,000 from early position, and Alfio Battisti wanted to play for more. The other Supernova Elite at the table three-bet to 176,000, drawing an all-in four bet from Mozdzen. Battisti instantly called to put his opponent on the ropes.

Showdown
Mozdzen: {A-Spades} {K-Clubs}
Battisti: {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds}

The flop came {Q-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} to leave Mozden drawing dead to two running cards. The {7-Clubs} on the turn was of no use, sealing his fate as the 6th-place finisher. A meaningless {3-Diamonds} filled out the board, the last one of Clayton Mozdzen's day. That's all she wrote for the mid-tournament chip leader; he'll walk away with 233,750 PLN for his efforts this week.

No Call from Pagano

Luca Pagano made it 65,000 to play from the hijack seat, and Clayton Mozdzen moved all in for 298,000 from the small blind. Pagano couldn't make the call, and he sent his cards back to the muck.

Mozden earns a big increase relative to his stack, now just shy of 400,000. Pagano has slipped back just under a million.

A Millie for Pagano

Action was folded around to the blinds where Luca Pagano completed and Oleksandr Vaserfirer knocked the table for a free flop.

It showed up {J-Spades} {6-Hearts} {7-Clubs}, and Pagano fired out 45,000. Vaserfirer called, and both men would check when the {Q-Hearts} hit the turn. The river was the {K-Spades}, and it drew another leading bet from Pagano, 80,000 this time. Vaserfirer took just a brief pause before making the call.

Pagano tabled {K-Hearts} {10-Spades}, and his pair of kings was good enough to take down the pot and move him up over the million-chip mark.

Vaserfirer Sends Benzimra Tanking

Christophe Benzimra made it 65,000 once again, this time first-in from the button. Big stack Oleksandr Vaserfirer came along with the call from the big blind, and the two men watched the flop roll out {6-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds}. They both checked, and Vaserfirer fired out 65,000 when the turn revealed the {6-Clubs}.

Benzimra quickly called, and the river was the {7-Spades}. Vaserfirer delayed for a bit this time, but he eventually slid out a healthy bet of 180,000, representing a big chunk of his opponent's stack. Benzimra would sit deep in the tank for several minutes as the break clock ticked away.

Vaserfirer finally called time after about five solid minutes, and Benzimra elected to let his hand go and keep his chips intact as the players headed off for refreshments.

'A Very Good Fold'

For the second hand in a row, Christophe Benzimra opened the pot with an early-position raise to 65,000. He took down the pot on the first hand, but he found action from Luca Pagano on the second go-round.

Pagano asked Benzimra for an estimate of his remaining stack, which was right at 500,000 behind. Satisfied by the answer, Pagano stuck in a re-raise to 215,000, enough to fold the table back around to his opponent.

Benzimra leaned back in his chair with a big sigh, then leaned forward again to eye up Pagano's stack. "You have more chips than me, no?"

The answer was a quick, "Yep," from Pagano who had his man well covered.

"I fold," said Benzimra confidently, flipping his {9-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} face-up in the middle of the table.

"It was a very good fold," said Pagano, passing his two cards in between his hands slowly. He showed up the {10-Diamonds} {10-Hearts}, adding a few more chips to his stack.

Rough Go for Mozdzen

Mozdzen can't stay out of the line of fire even under his hood
Mozdzen can't stay out of the line of fire even under his hood
From under the gun, Clayton Mozdzen raised to 55,000. Oleksandr Vaserfirer called out of the big blind and the flop came {10-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {4-Spades}. Both players checked.

The turn was the {Q-Clubs} and Vaserfirer checked again. Mozdzen fired 70,000 before Vaserfirer check-raised to 170,000, prompting a snap-fold from Mozdzen.

"Check-raise, check-raise, check-raise!" complained Mozdzen, slipping down to 430,000.
