A long bruising Day 2 of the EAPT UK Main Event has come to a conclusion with 16 players from the original 140 bagging for the final day at Dusk Till Dawn Poker Club, Nottingham.
The overnight chip leader is Yanwen Li, who grabbed the lion share of her chips from Francis Obadun when her pocket kings beat his pocket jacks and will come back tomorrow with 22,450,000.
Coming back tomorrow in second place is Ionut Dumitrana, who was on the rampage after the three-table redraw. Dumitrana dispatched five opponents in the space of an hour and finished the evening with 21,500,000.
Rounding up the top three is Dusk Till Dawn regular Baktash Parsa with 15,600,000. He will be joined by DTD cash game commentator Ali Ayub, who we presume won’t be doing double duty tomorrow when the final table is streamed live!

Day 2 Action
After a delayed start the man of the hour was Obadun whose fearless approach was putting his opponents to the ultimate test and saw him at the top of the standings throughout the day.
However Obadun hit a speed bump after two tussles with Dost Ghrabie. In the first encounter Obadun bet 700,000 to punish three limpers, but Ghrabie responded with a shove from the small blind which forced Obadun to fold and his opponent tabled queen-jack off.
The very next hand Obadun raised from the hijack and Ghrabie raised out of turn for 1,000,000. Obadun made the call, but Ghrabie shoved on the flop, which got a fold from Obadun. Ghrabie had pocket aces in this battle.
Once the field was whittled down to three tables, Dumitrana went on the sun run of his life. Starting with 12,600,000 Dumitrana knocked out Muhibur Rahman, Ben Fowler, Tony Horn, and Tom Runnacles and almost doubling his stack in the process.
But the hand of the day was one of the last of the night, where Obadun clashed with Li. Obadun four-bet shoved and was slightly covered by Li. Li went into the tank and used two time extensions before making the call.
There was a stunned silence when Li tabled pocket kings and some murmurings that it was a slowroll as Obadun had pocket jacks. Obadun couldn’t improve and with that, an astonished Li did a lap of honor with her arms in the air as if she scored a winning goal at Wembley.
The action will resume at 1 p.m. local time and will play on until a winner is crowned. Stick with PokerNews for all of the latest developments at the EAPT UK Main Event.
