Loeser Doubles Through Chu

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Mai Ha lost some chips and John Chu, the other big stack at table 49, also had to forfeit a portion of his growing tower after doubling table neighbor Manig Loeser in a battle cutoff versus button.

The chips went in preflop and Loeser had the superior kicker with {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} versus {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. On a board of {6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, ace-king high remained supreme and Loeser doubled for 89,000.

Triple Up fo Firdawcy; Zarb Eliminated

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Corey Zarb open-jammed the hijack for 68,000 and Hamza Firdawcy called all-in for 30,500 in the cutoff. Jack Wu on the button asked for a count on both all-ins and just called while Ali Ghezelbash in the big blind gave it some thought and opted to fold.

Corey Zarb: {a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Hamza Firdawcy: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Jack Wu: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

The {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} board ensured the triple up for Firdawcy, Wu claimed the side pot to eliminate Zarb.

Phachara Wongwochit
Phachara Wongwochit

Phachara Wongwichit was all-in for what appeared to be 34,000 in the big blind on a flop of {8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and he was called by Kan Lin in the cutoff.

Phachara Wongwichit: {9-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Kan Lin: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The {5-Diamonds} turn and {k-Diamonds} river provided no help for Wongwichit and he was ousted before the money. "I lost pretty much every hand I played," he said on his way out.

Baril Doubles; Cohen with Two Chips and a Chair?

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Jean-Serge Baril held {q-Clubs}{q-Spades} and was all in on {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades} against Joel Cohen with {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}

The {3-Hearts} turn and {3-Spades} river meant that Baril doubled for 58,000, leaving Cohen with just 1,500.

On the next hand he was all in with {7-Hearts}{5-Spades} for his last 1,500 against Sergio Aido with {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The flop {8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Spades} gave him a straight draw, and there were huge cheers from the table as the {9-Hearts} completed his straight on the turn. The river was the {3-Diamonds} and Cohen stayed alive.

Burns Doubles Through Jouhkimainen

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Kahle Burns raised to 9,000 from early position and Joni Jouhkimainen three-bet to 100,000 in the big blind, then called the shove of Burns for a few chips more.

Kahle Burns: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Joni Jouhkimainen: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

"How do you feel about flips," Jouhkimainen inquired before the showdown proceeded and the board came {5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades} to let Burns double for 115,000.

Another Finn on the losing end of a flip was Jussi Nevanlinna, as he left the tournament area shortly after with the words "not good with flips today."

There are just 108 players remaining and the top 88 spots will be in the money.
