The Double Up Galore Continues

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Nicolas Malo clashed with Simen Gulbrandsen and was at risk for 241,000 on the {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop.

Malo held the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} for an overpair while Gulbrandsen had {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} for top pair. The {7-Spades} turn and {k-Diamonds} river kept Malo's hand best and he doubled.

Next up, Malo put Matthew Wantman to the test who was all-in for 168,000 with the {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}. Malo only had {5-Clubs}{5-Spades} and found no sweat on the {8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} board.

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Simen Gulbrandsen
Simen Gulbrandsen

As hot as the run of Simen Gulbrandsen was at the start of the level, as cold it has been at the very end. Soon after he had clashed with Matthew Wantman, the Norwegian was at risk for 84,000 out of the small blind and Wantman looked him up from the big blind.

Simen Gulbrandsen: {k-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Matthew Wantman: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

There was no miracle escape on a board of {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and Gulbrandsen had to settle for 50th place.
