Givotovsky's Fives No Good

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

After a raise by Derek Wolters, Alek Givotovsky got the remainder of his stack in from one seat over and Wolters looked him up rather quickly with the dominating pocket pair.

Givotovsky: {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Wolters: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

The board came {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and the pocket jacks held up for Wolters to bust his table neighbor.

Silver Busts to Chattaway

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Billy Chattaway opened to 12,000 from the cutoff and Max Silver moved all in for what looked like 150,000 out of the small blind. Chattaway looked him up and Silver was in need of a jack.

Silver: {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Chattaway: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}

There was no help on the board {9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{8-Spades} and the kicker problem resulted in the seat open for Silver while Chattaway keeps adding to his already impressive stack.

Kanit Can Not

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

We missed the pre flop and flop action and arrived on the turn to a board of {4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}. Ari Engel checked from the small blind and big blind Mustapha Kanit bet 50,000. Engel made the call and checked again on the {2-Spades} river. Kanit carefully cut out 90,000 and slid his bet in. Engel tanked for a bit before calling.

Kanit showed his {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} but mucked them seconds later as Engel tabled {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for top pair.

Apostolidis the Millionaire

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

John Apostolidis limped under the gun and Mazyar Misaghian raised to 16,000 from the hijack. Jack O'Neill called from the big blind, and then Apostolidis woke up with a check-raise to 82,000. Misaghian thought for a few moments before calling, O'Neill got out of the way, and the flop came down {3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}.

Apostolidis wasted little time in betting a hefty 250,000 and then snap-called when Misaghian moved all in for 353,000 total.

Apostolidis: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Misaghian: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

It was a cooler between two big stacks with Misaghian being on the bad end of it. He called for a diamond after the {8-Diamonds} turn delivered him a flush draw, but it didn't come in as the {9-Spades} bricked on the river.

Apostolidis vaulted over a million in chips while Misaghian hit the rail in 73rd place.

Gruissem Loses With Queens

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Sadan Turker shoved all in for 42,000 and the small blind made the call. Philipp Gruissem in the big blind over shoved all in and the small blind folded after thinking about it for a bit.

Sadan Turker: {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Philipp Gruissem: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The board ran out {K-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Turker tripled up.

The Two-Hand Demise of Mortiz Dietrich

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

A short-stacked Moritz Dietrich moved all in from early position only to have Sinan Aydogan, who had a shorter stack of 48,000, call off from the cutoff. The rest of the field folded and it was off to the races.

Aydogan: {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Dietrich: {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}

Dietrich needed to improve to eliminate his opponent, but that didn't happen as the board ran out a clean {2-Hearts}{6-Spades}{q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. Aydogan doubled on the hand while Dietrich was left with just 6,500.

Two hands later, Bobby Zhang opened for 12,000 holding the {a-Spades}{q-Spades} and action folded to Mortiz, who was automatically all in from the big blind. Mortiz, who held the {10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, needed some help, but he found anything but as the board ran out {q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}.
