McDonald Doubles Again!

Level 17 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Isaac Haxton was first to act and raised to 235,000. Mike McDonald moved all in from the big blind for 1.125 million, and Haxton tank-called.

McDonald: {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Haxton: {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}

McDonald took the lead on a flop of {9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, and retained shipped the hand when the turn and river bricked off {4-Spades}, {9-Diamonds} respectively.

"Best two big blind player ever," Daniel Negreanu joked.

Timex is up over two million chips, while Haxton is down to 1.05 million.

Another Double for Timex

Level 17 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Mike "Timex" McDonald moved all in from the small blind for roughly 440,000 and Isaac Haxton called from the big.

Haxton: {j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
McDonald: {k-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

McDonald was well out in front with his king, and that's where he stayed as the board ran out {5-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}.

McDonald Triples; Negreanu Takes Chip Lead

Level 17 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
McDonald all smiles after tripling
McDonald all smiles after tripling

From under the gun, a newly-crippled Mike "Timex" McDonald moved all in for 175,000. After Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu called from the small blind, Phil Ivey raised to 450,000 out of the big blind. Negreanu called and checked in the dark before the dealer spread the {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop. Ivey bet 500,000, and Negreanu called.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds}, and Negreanu and Ivey checked. Then, the river completed the board with the {J-Spades}. Negreanu and Ivey checked again.

Negreanu tabled the {5-Hearts}{5-Spades} for a pair of fives after announcing a single pair. Ivey showed what looked to be {A-}{9-}, but it was quickly mucked. McDonald showed the {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} for pocket kings.

Negreanu won the side pot, which was good enough to move him into the chip lead ahead of Ivey, and then McDonald scooped the main pot to more than triple his stack.

Haxton Double; McDonald Crippled

Level 17 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Mike "Timex" McDonald moved all in from the button and Isaac Haxton, who had the shorter stack, called off from the small blind. Daniel Negreanu folded from the big and the cards were turned up.

McDonald: {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}
Haxton: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

It was a flip, but not after the flop came down {4-Spades}{5-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} to give Haxton the lead with a pair of nines. The {2-Diamonds} turn made things interesting as McDonald picked up an open-ended straight draw, but the {K-Spades} river failed to complete it.

It would appear Timex is running out of time.

Timex's Turn to Take One

Level 16 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Isaac Haxton was first to act, and put in a raise. Mike McDonald defended the big blind, then check-called a bet of 150,000 on a flop of {j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades}.

Both players checked after the turn produced the {5-Diamonds}, and the {4-Diamonds} completed the board. McDonald led out for 400,000, and Haxton tank-called.

The Canadian showed {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for nines and fives, and raked in the pot.

Ivey Gives It Up to Negreanu

Level 16 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

We picked up the action on a {k-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Spades} flop when Daniel Negreanu checked from the small blind and Phil Ivey did the same from the under-the-gun position. Negreanu then led out for 145,000 on the {Q-Diamonds} turn, Ivey called, and the {7-Hearts} completed the board on the river. Negreanu fired again, this time 475,000, and Ivey agonized over what to do before ultimately folding his cards.

Two Pair for Negreanu

Level 16 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Isaac Haxton and Daniel Negreanu were in action on the {9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop. Haxton was first and checked. Negreanu bet 275,000, and Haxton made the call to see the {K-Clubs} land on the turn. Both players checked, and a repeat {K-Diamonds} fell on the river. Haxton checked, Negreanu bet 360,000, and Haxton called.

Negreanu rolled over the {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for two pair, kings and nines, with a ten kicker. Haxton couldn't beat it and mucked his hand, giving Negreanu the pot.
