Karlsson Doubles Again

Level 13 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Magnus Karlsson has been one of the most active players so far at this final table. After doubling up just a short while ago, he has lost a few pots when he folded to some all ins. This time would be different though.

Action folded to Karlsson on the button and he bet 40,000. Rui Cao, in the small blind, followed with an immediate all in and just as quickly, Karlsson called.

Karlsson: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Cao: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Karlsson maintained the lead and even received some extra insurance as the board came {2-Spades}{q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}.

Zhang: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Karlsson was ahead and stayed that way through the {6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Diamonds} board.

JJ Liu From The Main Event

Zongyao Zhang raised to 40,000 from early position and was called by Rui Cao in middle position. Action folded over to JJ Liu in the cutoff, who raised to 120,000.

When action got back to Zhang, he folded but Cao made the call. The {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades} flop was dealt and Cao checked over to Liu who bet 150,000. Cao quickly folded and Liu is building a stack.

Clark Eliminated; We're On The Money Bubble

Level 12 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Kevin Clark lost all but 5,000 chips to Huidong Gu when his jacks failed to improve against Gu's queens. Just two hands later he was eliminated holding {j-Spades}{k-Diamonds} when Magnus Karlsson rivered a straight with {8-Hearts}{10-Clubs} on the {7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} board.

With Clark's elimination we are on the money bubble. We expect play to tighten up here but this tournament has been anything but "normal".

Torbergsen and Yu Are Gone; Final Table Set

Level 12 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Quan Zhou
Quan Zhou

We didn't witness Torbergsen's elimination but were told Quan Zhou held ace-king and went all in over the top of a bet from Torbergsen on the river. Torbergsen called and Zhou tabled his hand and Torbergsen mucked.

On the other table Winfred Yu went all in with {a-Spades}{7-Hearts} and was ahead of the {a-Diamonds}{5-Spades} from Magnus Karlsson. The board came {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Spades} for a rivered straight for Karlsson and the elimination of Yu in 10th place.

This sets up the final table of nine but only seven of those players will be leaving with a paycheck.

The tournament will be paused and players draw for seats and take a quick break. We will be back with a seat draw in a few minutes.

Zhang Is On a Roll

Level 12 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Zongyao Zhang, the big blind, moved all in over the initial raise of 31,000 from Winfred Yu. Yu made the call and showed {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}. Zhang was behind with {k-Hearts}{10-Spades} and need help. He happened to find it on the {k-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} flop. He maintained the lead through {2-Diamonds} turn and {8-Hearts} river for yet another double up.
