Two Starting Days Remain for the 2023 PokerStars APPT Manila Main Event
Two starting days remain for the flagship tournament of the 2023 PokerStars Asia-Pacific Poker Tour Manila Main Event and poker enthusiasts from near and far are expected to head to the capital of the Philippines. One year ago, the very same tournament drew a total of 801 entries and generated a prize pool of PHP 45,452,745. Both figures could be surpassed today in the Coral Room of the luxurious Okada Manila Resort in Paranaque.
One starting day in the 2023 APPT Manila PHP65,000 Main Event has already concluded and the 395 total entries of Day 1a surpassed the PHP 20 million guarantee right away, putting the tournament on track for a stellar turnout. Players have two flights available to try and run up a stack. Day 1b is scheduled to kick off approximately 1 p.m. local time whereas the turbo heat 1c follows later in the evening as of 8 p.m. local time.
Both remaining starting days will complete 13 levels each with 1b featuring a level duration of 40 minutes whereas 1c has reduced levels of 20 minutes each. The late registration for both heats is open for the first ten levels and a single re-entry option is available to all participants. All contenders who have bagged up chips on Day 1a cannot enter the last two flights in order to carry over a bigger stack.
The starting stack is 30,000 and the blinds commence at 100-100 with a big blind ante of 100, giving each contestant 300 big blinds worth in the opening level. Whether or not anyone will be able to surpass the 426,000 in chips accumulated by Oleg Kaminski on Day 1a remains to be seen.
The PokerNews live updates will focus on Day 1b with chip counts of the turbo heat to follow once the action of the night has concluded.
