Who Will Win the 2019 PokerStars APPT Korea Super High Roller?
After 12 levels of 40 minutes each, a 65-entry strong field has emerged in the 2019 PokerStars APPT Korea ₩10,000,000 APPT Super High Roller ($8,767) and just shy of one third of the field will return to the poker tables of the Paradise City Resort & Casino in Incheon, South Korea. Only the top nine spots will take home a portion of the ₩611,585,000 ($537,210) prize pool with ₩17,736,000 ($15,608) reserved for the min cash, the winner can look forward to a payday of ₩178,890,000 ($157,423).
Japan's Jun Obara leads the 21 survivors into the final with a stack of 1,465,000 and another four players will boast a seven-figure stack when the action resumes in level 13 at blinds of 10,000/20,000 with a 20,000 big blind ante. Huahuan Feng (1,115,000), Jiang Chen (1,100,000), PokerStars Ambassador Celina Lin (1,035,000) and Christopher Park (1,015,000) are all within a few big blinds from each other.
Further notables that advanced to Day 2 include Lei Yu (925,000), Wayne Zhang (865,000), Randy "nanonoko" Lew (775,000), Michael Soyza (635,000), Wai Kiat Lee (475,000), Park Yu "Sparrow" Cheung (470,000), and World Series of Poker bracelet winner Calvin Lee (320,000).
The action resumes at 1 p.m. local time and all contenders will receive an additional three time bank extensions worth 30 seconds each at the start of Day 2 and once the final table has been reached. The tournament also features a 30-second shot clock until a champion is crowned and the PokerNews team will be on the floor to provide all the action.
