Advani Bubbles the Final Table

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Romit Advani
Romit Advani

Romit Advani three-bet shoved the small blind and initial raiser Thomas Lee committed his last 560,000 chips as well. The Indian had {A-}{J-} and Lee's {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades} scored the second double up in very short time as the board ran out {7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

Almost exactly at the end of the hand, Xiao Tian Yang had busted on the next table and Advani grinned over with his last 10,000 chips, 5,000 were gone for the ante already. "Are we 10 left?" he asked and once that was confirmed he moved all in from the button.

Hayato Kitajima called in the small blind for the mandatory 30,000 and Douglas Olsson checked the big blind. The {3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop was checked and Olsson's minimum bet of 30,000 on the {5-Clubs} turn made Kitajima fold. The Swede turned over {4-Hearts}{6-Spades} for the nut straight and Advani was drawing dead with the {K-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

The {8-Diamonds} river was just a formality and there is now a 35-minute break until 18:30 local time until the start of the official final table.

Yang Busts in Battle of Blinds

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Xiao Tian Yang
Xiao Tian Yang

While a big pot had just emerged over on the second table, Xiao Tian Yang had moved all in for 435,000 chips from the small blind and the decision was on Aaron Lim in the big blind. The Australian tanked for a fair amount of time and then made the call with the {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}.

Yang was caught with the fingers in the cookie jar and sheepishly turned over his {3-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Both players hit the {3-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop, but it was all over after the {Q-Hearts} turn. The meaningless {2-Hearts} river ended the tournament of Yang in 11th place and about one minute later the final table was found, see next update.

Lee Doubles; Leonarez Short

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Thomas Lee shipped it short and Jessie Leonarez beat him to the pot with a shove of his own.

After folds all around it was Lee on the live {k-Spades}{4-Diamonds} versus Leonarez' {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Lee flopped a pair and a flush draw when the {10-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Spades} was revealed. The pair held on an {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} run out to give Lee the double and leave Leonarez short.

No Ace for Huang; Out in 12th

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Fubo Fu Bang Huang
Fubo Fu Bang Huang

The stack of Fubo Fu Bang Huang had somewhat melted or just appeared more clear once the blue T-1,000 chips had been raced off at the start of play. Hayato Kitajima raised to 65,000 from the button and Huang then shipped in his last 16 big blinds with the {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}.

The Japanese happily called with the {K-Spades}{K-Clubs} and his rail cheered as the board ran out {2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades}. Kitajima increased his overall lead and we are two eliminations away from the official final table.

Advani Shows a Three

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Romit Advani moved all in for the fourth time lately and initial raiser Jessie Leonarez was sent into the think tank for more than six minutes. Finally, Advani called the time on him after having put his last 490,000 on the line. Leonarez mucked his cards with 10 seconds to go on his minute of consideration and was then shown the {3-Spades}.

The rail of the Indian applauded and Leonarez' face spoke for itself.

Fan Takes from Yu

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

On the button, Winfred Yu opened to 55,000 and was called by Terry Fan in the big blind to see a flop of {7-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{6-Hearts}. Fan check-called a bet of 70,000 and the {A-Clubs} turn was checked. Fan then led the {8-Spades} river for 123,000 and Yu called reluctantly to muck when shown the {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a straight.

Over on the other table, Jessie Leonarez won a bigger pot off Romit Advani and the Indian was sent into push or fold mode, claiming the blinds and antes twice.

Jeon Doubles Lim; Busts with Aces After

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Seung Soo Jeon
Seung Soo Jeon

After the previous action with Iona Finkenrath, Seung Soo Jeon raised from the hijack and faced the 121,000-three-bet of Aaron Lim from one sear over. Jeon moved all in and Lim quickly pushed forward his stack for the call.

Jeon: {A-Spades}{J-Spades}
Lim: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

A loud sigh from Jeon emerged and the {K-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{A-Hearts} flop was a disaster for him. It was all over after the {5-Hearts} turn and Lim even made the nut flush with the {3-Hearts} river. Once the stacks were counted, Lim was all in for 496,000 and Jeon had less than two big blinds left.

The next hand the Korean moved all in blind for 35,000 and laughed. "No need to look." Winfred Yu clicked it to 48,000 from the button and Terry Fan called in the big blind. Both players checked down the {3-Hearts}{J-Spades}{8-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades} board and Yu showed his {K-Spades}{J-Clubs} first. Then Fan tabled {2-Hearts}{9-Spades} for a straight and Jeon finally turned over his cards, smashing the {A-Hearts}{A-Spades} to the table. What a drama ...
