O'Dwyer O'Double

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Arriving at the river of a {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{J-Clubs} board, Steve O'Dwyer had led for 2,500 into a pot of 4,700 and his opponent from one seat over moved all in. The Irish-American carefully counted his stack and tanked for a fair amount of time before eventually pushing chips to the middle for a call.

"Good call," his opponent immediately sat and tabled his {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. Some other players on the table were somewhat surprised to see O'Dwyer flip over the winning {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} and he is now back to more than the starting stack after his 10,025 were matched up. Yubin Zheng, who had previously doubled up through him, is sitting on more than three times the initial chips.

The Queens Clash

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Randy Lew opened to 700 and was met by a three-bet to 2,050 by the player on the button to fold his cards just before the end of the level. The PokerStars Team Online member is almost back up to starting stack and one table over, fireworks got underway.

Lester Edoc raised to 650 and Vivian Im called from one seat over before the player on the button three-bet to 1,550. Edoc now squeezed to 4,650 and was called only by the player on the button. On the {10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop, Edoc immediately pushed his opponent all in and the latter called off for around 14,000 chips with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}.

Edoc held the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and was hoping for diamonds. The {10-Hearts} on the turn destroyed the hope of a suckout and a meaningless {7-Diamonds} river completed the board.

Liu Eliminates Huang

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Bryan Huang
Bryan Huang

Geng Liu raised to 1,100 from the hijack before Bryan Huang bumped it up to 3,200 from the big blind. The bet was called and both players watched the flop come down {q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{q-Diamonds}.

Huang threw out a continuation bet of 4,600 which was called before both players opted to check when the {5-Diamonds} fell on the turn.

The river brought the {j-Diamonds} and Huang reached for his chips and cut out a bet totalling 8,500 in chips. Liu stared at Huang and his stack for a moment before announcing all in for 26,800 in chips. The bet had Huang covered who went into the tank for a few minutes.

Huang eventually made the call and watched as Liu rolled over {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for a flopped full house.

Zheng Continues Domination

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

With the {5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{A-Spades} board already being complete, Steve O'Dwyer and Yubin Zheng clashed once again and the Chinese tossed out a bet of 11,000. O'Dwyer was taking a lot of time and eventually grabbed two brown and a blue chip, throwing them towards the middle of the table.

As soon as Zheng flipped over his {3-Clubs}{4-Spades} for a straight, the Irish-American just nodded and let out a deep sigh.

Waiting for the Transfer

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Apparently two players from India are waiting for the transfer of funds for at least one hour and that's the reason why the official number for Day 1b has not been confirmed yet. It still stands at 286 but may be corrected depending on the money appearing or not.

Chan In the House

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

$8,646,455 in total earnings and a best score of $750,000, that's the Hendon Mob profile of Johnny Chan in a nutshell. The American doesn't play as many tournaments anymore but did come to Macau last year to participate. He is back at the felt now and ready to teach all the young guns some lessons.

No Glorious Trio This Time

Scott Davies
Scott Davies

Sheng Sun and Jack Hu had already busted and now the third-placed Scott Davies from yesterday's HK$50,000 Freezeout has also been sent to the rail as well. According to Lester Edoc, he got it in preflop with {A-}{Q-} against the {A-}{K-} of Wan Zhang and two kings on the flop immediately destroyed all hopes.
