Duff Down and Almost Out

Alistair Duff shoved the previous hand successfully, but second time around he wasn’t quite so lucky. Hoang Anh Do raised to 120,000, Duff moved all in and Do instantly called with {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. Duff was in deep trouble with his {a-Spades}{10-Spades}.

The board did bring a river sweat but the {5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs} board left him crippled as Do is now a huge chip leader.

Do Wins More

The remarkable comeback of Hoang Anh Do continues as he’s just won another very healthy pot from Alistair Duff.

Preflop, Duff raised the button to a minimum 120,000 and Do called. The flop wad {q-Spades}{4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Do checked to Duff who bet another 120,000. Do made the call before both checked the {8-Spades} turn. The river was the {8-Clubs} to put three eights out there and Do decided to lead out for 135,000. Duff responded with a raise to 350,000 but Do emphatically waved his arms to signal he was all in.

After several minutes of thought, Duff made a reluctant fold to slip back onto the short stack.

Miracle Double Brings Us Back to Square One

It was looking like we were finally going to lose a player after sitting three-handed for almost three hours. Hoang Anh Do then doubled and now, he has doubled again in what some would describe as a downright miracle - in poker terms, anyway.

Do shoved his stack in from the button holding {j-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Nicholas Wong called in the big blind holding {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. By the time the {7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{a-Hearts} flop was dealt, it was more likely than ever that we would be heading into heads-up play. The {k-Hearts} put a flush draw out there for Do and when the {10-Hearts} hit the river, it was a runner-runner flush to see this tournament continue to crawl along three-handed for at least a little longer.

Double Do

Hoang Anh Do has made the double-up he desperately needed just a short while after being crippled against Nicholas Wong.

The hand in question saw Do shove all in for 230,000 from the small blind. Alistair Duff called in the big blind and the two players turned their hands over.

Do: {q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Duff: {10-Hearts}{6-Spades}

Board: {4-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{k-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts}

The cards spread on the felt were good enough for Do to survive as he now sits behind a touch over 500,000.

Do Left Crippled

Huang Anh Do has taken a huge hit to his stack and now sits as the absolute short stack at the table.

It started when Do limped the button and Nicholas Wong checked in the big blind as Alistair Duff got out of the way.

Flop: {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

On the flop, Wong checked and Do bet 55. Wong made the call and a turn card was dealt.
Turn: {6-Spades}

Again Wong would check and this time Do bet 105. A call from Wong and another card would hit the felt on the river.

River: {5-Hearts}

This time Wong would lead, throwing out 450,000. Do then went into the tank for over 3 minutes as he pondered his decision.

Eventually Do would call and Wong would show {4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, enough to send Do's cards flying into the muck and leave him crippled.

Duffman Can Never Die, Oh Yeah

The very next hand after Alistair Duff was left crippled, he was all in for his last 365,000 from the button with both Nick Wong and Hoang Anh Do making the call in the blinds.

The two live players quickly checked down the board of {5-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} hoping to take out the short stack and get to heads-up play. Unfortunately neither of them connected with the board. Wong showed {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, and Do {k-Spades}{Q-Spades}. Incredibly, that left Duff’s {10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} as the best hand with his pair of lowly fives collecting the million-chip pot.

Duffman Can Lose

We hadn't heard much from Nicholas Wong for the last hour or so, but that has all changed now as Wong has left Alistair Duff crippled.

It started with Duff and Wong limping to a {3-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop from the blinds. Duff was the small blind and led for 50,000 on the flop. Wong then min-clicked it back and Duff then shoved all in for a whole lot of chips. Duff had Wong covered and when Wong called, his tournament life would be on the line.

Wong: {j-Spades}{6-Spades}
Duff: {9-Spades}{4-Spades}

It was flush and straight draws for both players, but Wong's draws would be a little stronger.

The {j-Hearts} turn and the {2-Spades} river would give Wong the better hand as he now has the chip lead, while Duff is sitting with the short stack.
