Big Pot For O'Rourke

Liam O'Rourke has just taken down a big pot. It started when Anthony Aston opened it up to 70,000 from the button. Liam O'Rourke was in the big blind and he made the call holding {5-Clubs}{5-Spades} to watch as the flop was spread {j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}.

On the flop, O'Rourke threw in a check-raise to 185,000 when Aston bet 80,000. A call from Aston would see the {7-Diamonds} hit the turn and O'Rourke would lead for 235,000. Aston put in a quick call.

On the {2-Hearts} river, O'Rourke verbalized a bet of 480,000 and Aston reciprocated with a, "call". O'Rourke tabled his {5-Clubs}{5-Spades} and sent Aston's cards straight into the muck.

Speidel Crippled

When it was folded to Oliver Speidel on the button, he would shove his stack all in. Jason O'Brien was in the big blind and he called for marginally less than Speidel's shove.

Speidel: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
O'Brien: {5-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

The board ran out {9-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, with Speidel left crippled while O'Brien is looking good with a double-up.

No Action For O'Rourke

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 3,000 ante

For the second time during this final table we have seen Liam O'Rourke table pocket aces. A recent hand saw O'Rourke open it up to 62,000 and get no action. That's when he flicked {a-Clubs}{a-Spades} onto the felt.

Bellard Can Not Lose

Folded to Liam O'Rourke in the hijack he raised it up. Only Stewart Ballard on the button would make the call as the {j-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{a-Spades} flop was dealt.

On the flop, O'Rourke led for 68,000 and Ballard called. The {5-Spades} on the turn saw O'Rourke again lead, this time for 115,000. A call from Ballard and an {8-Clubs} was dealt on the river. O'Rourke fired another bullet and it was 202,000 to Ballard. Another call and the two players would turn their hands over.

O'Rourke: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Ballard: {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

A great river for Ballard as he can't seem to lose a pot lately.

Ballard Crushing

Stewart Ballard has gone a bit of a rampage after sitting behind a short stack for much of the afternoon. The biggest hand for Ballard recently started when Jason O'Brien raised it up to 66,000 from the small blind. Ballard made the call and some cards were dealt on the felt.

On the {5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} flop, O'Brien led for 77,000 and Ballard made the call. When the {7-Clubs} hit the turn, O'brien would again lead, this time for 150,000. Ballard quickly popped it to 300,000 and O'Brien made the call.

The {a-Clubs} on the river would see O'Brien check and Ballard slide out 400,000. Eventually O'Brien made the call and then sighed when he Ballard turned over {a-Spades}{7-Spades} to trump his {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}.

Aces, Aces Everywhere

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 3,000 ante

The last two pots have seen a couple of very nice looking hands hit the felt.

The first time started when Liam O'Rourke opened it up to 62,000 from the cutoff. Only Craig Blight in the big blind would make the call. The flop would be spread {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Blight checked to O'Rourke. At this point O'Rourke went to grab some chips and before his fingers even touched a chip, Blight had flung his cards into the muck. This is when O'Rourke tabled his {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}.

The very next hand saw Jason O'Brien open it up to 76,000 from the cutoff. He would get no action, but when the blinds and antes were getting raked his way, he would flip over {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}.

Ballard Still Going Strong

Folded to Liam O'Rourke on the button he raised it up to 62,000. Both Jason O'Brien and Stewart Ballard made the call in the blinds and the flop was dealt {k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{a-Spades}.

On the flop, O'Brien led for 105,000 and Ballard made the call. O'Rourke opted to get out of the way and the {3-Spades} was dealt on the turn.

This time O'Brien led for 105,000 and Ballard popped it to 210,000. A call from O'Brien would see the {j-Clubs} complete the board on the river.

A check from both players and O'Brien would turn over his {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. They would go on in the muck though as Ballard tabled his {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for two-pair.

Battle of the O's

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 3,000 ante

Folded to Liam O'Rourke in the small blind he raised it up to 75,000. Jason O'Brien called in the big blind and 3 cards were across the felt.

Flop: {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

O'Rourke led for 80,000 on the flop and O'Brien made the call. On the {3-Diamonds} turn, O'Rourke check-called a bet of 85,000 and the {a-Spades} completed the board on the river. This time both players checked and O'Rourke turned over his {8-Spades}{7-Spades} which were sent into the muck when O'Brien tabled his {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

Here Comes Ballard

The action was opened by Oliver Speidel in the cutoff. Liam O'Rourke was on the button when he three-bet to 132,000. It was then on Stewart Ballard in the big blind and he shoved all in for 513,000. Speidel got out of the way and O'Rourke decided to make the call.

Ballard: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
O'Rourke: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

When the flop was spread {5-Spades}{10-Clubs}{q-Hearts}, there was a bit of excitement from the rail. The turn and river didn't change a thing and it was Ballard's bigger set that took down the pot.
