Only a a couple of minutes into the day and we have lost our first player. It all started when Luke Edwards opened it up to 20,000 from early position. Only Bradley Lancken in the big blind would make the call and some cards would be dealt on the felt.
Flop:
Lancken was first to act and opted to lead out for 20,000. Edwards then popped it to 50,000 and Lancken immediately announced he was all in.
Edwards snapped him off just as quickly and the players turned their hands over.

Lancken:
It was fireworks early over on Table 4 and when the turn hit with a and the landed on the river, it was over for Edwards in 26th place.
It's almost ten minutes after it was meant to start, but the cards are being dealt and the players are ready to go. It's starting at 5,000-10,000 with a 1,000-chip ante. Strap yourself in, because it's going to be a long day.
The players are scrambling into their seats and breaking open the chip bags. We will be running a few minutes behind schedule, but the cards will be in the air very soon. While you wait, why don't we remind everyone how the table draw looks today.
A total of 27 players will be hitting the felt today with one thing on their mind and that’s the $226,812 first place prize.
But of course there can be only one champion, and at this point it is Nicholas Heather is in the best position to make a run at the title.
Close behind Heather and someone who knows what it takes to win a big tournament is 2012 Aussie Millions Main Event champion, Oliver Speidel. He’ll be one to watch today as he aims to continue his great form of the last few months.
Don’t rule out the rest of the field though as talented players such as Jim Collopy, Liam O’Rourke, Alec Smith, Gordon Huntly, and Mishel Annunu played tough poker yesterday and will be right in the thick of it today.
Throw in the likes of 2008 APPT Sydney champ Martin Rowe, 2010 ANZPT Darwin runner-up Luke Edwards and 2010 APPT Sydney fourth-place finisher Peco Stojanovski and we’ve got ourselves a very exciting day of poker.
It’s all set to kick off at 2:00 pm local time and the PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be here every step of the way as an ANZPT Sydney champion is crowned.
