Winner to Be Crowned in €2,200 High Roller; Main Event Day 1b Kicks Off in Madrid
The second of four starting days in the inaugural 888poker LIVE Madrid festival awaits as of 5 p.m. local time at the stunning Casino Gran Via right in the centre and the first major live poker tournament of the casino is off to a decent start after yesterday's first flight attracted a field of 180 entries in the €888 Main Event.
Another two regular heats with 11 levels of 50 minutes each await today and tomorrow while a turbo heat then follows on Sunday, February 2nd, 2020. All Day 1 survivors will then combine to one field as of 5 p.m. local time and the field size will be set after the first two levels and break on Day 2.
The flagship event of the festival in Madrid features a guaranteed prize pool of €800,000 and all participants receive 88,000 in chips. On top of the prize money, a $12,500 package for the 2020 WSOP Main Event courtesy of event sponsor 888poker awaits to the eventual champion.
During the registration period, unlimited re-entries can be purchased and players can participate in as many Day 1s as they wish to then pick the stack they wish to bring forward to Day 2. It will also be possible to surrender the stack at the end of the registration period and re-enter with a full stack.

One hour prior to the start of the Main Event, the nine remaining players out of a 103-entry strong €2,200 High Roller will return to their seats to play down to a champion. Due to the very deep structure with nearly 40 big blinds, the action was halted at 4 a.m. local time once the final table was reached. Ignacio Molina holds the chip lead and 888poker ambassador Sofia Lovgren is also in contention to possibly scoop another 888poker LIVE trophy after her victory in the Ladies Event in London in December 2019.
