Saaskilahti Loses Chunks

Level 5 : 300/600, 100 ante

Lauri Saaskilahti lost a big pot as Juan Font Espina doubled through the Finn with pocket kings on a queen-high board. Both are now just above three times the starting stack and more than two dozen players have been eliminated throughout the first four levels and some.

First Break for Day 1c

Level 4 : 200/400, 75 ante

After the frantic action of the first four levels, it is time to have a little break and the players were sent away from the tables for the next 20 minutes. The T-25 chips will be raced off and the screens show 170 players out of a 180-entry strong field remaining.

Back In

Level 4 : 200/400, 75 ante

Robert Perez re-entered and ran up his second bullet for the day slightly already. Douglas Wheatland is also back in, and just bet a heads-up turn of {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{4-Spades} for 8,000 from under the gun. His sole opponent in the big blind called and then shoved the {6-Clubs} river for 14,050.

Wheatland gave it some consideration and folded, but remains above starting stack. Thomas Elder and Joan Fabregas Capellas are also back in after having busted on Day 1b.

Bastida Perez Doubles and Busts Nalewajka

Level 4 : 200/400, 75 ante

First Juan Bastida doubled with {A-Clubs}{A-Spades} versus {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} after he got his last 9,200 in after the {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{10-Spades} turn with already 28,000 in the middle, as a blank {2-Spades} river changed nothing.

Soon after, Przemyslaw Nalewajka got into a raising war with the Spaniard and was all in for around 22,000 preflop with {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. Bastida Perez had {K-Spades}{K-Hearts} and the board ran out {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}.

Razavi Folds the River

Level 4 : 200/400, 75 ante

On the four-way flop of {J-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, the action checked to Jamali Razavi and she bet 2,500. All three opponents called and the {4-Hearts} turn was checked. On the {10-Clubs} river, Fernando Campomar Concha bet 3,375 in the big blind and Razavi folded, then said later in table chat she had pocket jacks. One player called and Campomar Concha turned over {Q-Spades}{10-Spades} for a straight.

The 888 Special for Rodriguez de la Rubia

Level 4 : 200/400, 75 ante
Miguel Angel Rodriguez de la Rubia
Miguel Angel Rodriguez de la Rubia

With 13,000 in the middle and the flop showing {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades}, Miguel Angel Rodriguez de la Rubia faced a bet worth 7,000 and moved all in for his last 15,350. His opponent snap-called with {A-Clubs}{A-Spades} and the Spaniard only had {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. The {3-Diamonds} turn provided no help yet, but the {8-Clubs} river gave Rodriguez de la Rubia a set.

"So that's why you have the logo?" a player on the table joked, referring to the 888poker patch of the Spaniard.

Crazy Action in Level Three

Level 3 : 150/300, 50 ante

After the several massive pots, the action didn't slow down and Martin Kilchenmann just had Pere Maso Planas all in and at risk for 15,075 with {A-Spades}{K-Spades} versus {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. Maso Planas won the flip thanks to a board of {Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Hearts} and doubled back to starting stack.

Younesse Oualgassi knocked out "The Thunder" third place finisher Roberto Perez with {K-Hearts}{10-Spades} versus {3-Clubs}{3-Spades} as the board came {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{9-Spades}{K-Spades}. Perez left the table with a big smile on the face and may very likely re-enter soon. Apparently it was a result of a limped pot preflop, which Perez raised out of the blinds. Only Oualgassi called, then Perez bet the flop and shoved the turn with threes while Oualgassi called with a gutshot and king-high only.
