Biography

Marc Macdonnell is a multi-table tournament specialist hailing from Ireland. Macdonnell has over $1.6 million in online poker tournament winnings, and another $3.3 million from live poker events.

Among his many online poker accomplishments, Macdonnell can brag about a third-place finish in the PokerStars Sunday Million in 2014, a finish that earned him a career-best score worth $106,800. Macdonnell counts victories in the GGPoker Global MILLION$ ($71,835), and the PartyPoker KO Series ($51,535) among his best online results.

In September 2023, Macdonnell played The Deal at PokerStars, a progressive jackpot mini-game. Macdonnell was lucky enough to trigger the jackpot of more than $826,000 of which he received half in cold, hard cash.

Macdonnell is an accomplished live poker tournament player, too. A runner-up finish in the $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em Hyper Turbo event at the 2015 World Series of Poker (WSOP) netted Macdonnell $155,876. Two years later, Macdonnell finished fifth in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Millionaire Maker for a then career-best $420,805.

Macdonnell raked in the first seven-figure score (exactly $1 million) of his career when he finished third behind Filipe Oliveira and Craig Mason in the 2018 PartyPoker Caribbean Poker Party Main Event.
