6:40Kevin joins the show.
6:49Kevin asks Bernard the first listener question: “I would like to try to give some bigger tournaments a shot and considering going to the WSOP this summer. Are there any suggestions on what tournaments to play?” Bernard answers in two parts. First, go play in an event at a casino prior to coming to the WSOP. Second, play in some WSOP preliminary events, not just jump into the WSOP Main Event. Also, consider other lower buy-in events such as Big 50 and Colossus.
11:49Kevin asks Bernard a follow-up question, “Is there any specific that they should watch out for before they play with the pro?” Bernard suggests to not try to outplay an experienced pro and play ABC tight aggressive poker. Also, show up to the WSOP early to get over the Awe Factor. Finally, while playing, pay attention at all times.
15:16Kevin asks Bernard, “How did you get started in the media?” Bernard answers that his media career began somewhat accidentally after writing a well-received blog about his deep run in the 2005 WSOP Main Event.
23:20Kevin asks Bernard, “Can you tell me a time where being part of the media may have helped you playing?” Bernard discusses when he was the WSOP Circuit lead commentator during the 2012-2013 season.

29:58Bernard continues his annual Q&A show with the WSOP Social Media Manager, Kevin Mathers, as the moderator.
30:33Kevin asks Bernard, “Do you have any suggestions to add to the WSOP schedule?” Bernard would like a 2-7 single draw no-limit/no-limit hold’em tournament.
34:38Kevin asks Bernard, “Being that poker is your job, what is your favorite hobby?” Bernard answers playing several sports (tennis, golf, and basketball), but most importantly spending time with his family.
38:45 Kevin asks Bernard, “Is it tough balancing your family life with playing poker?” Bernard answers Yes, but he states that he is really balancing poker with his family life, which is his priority.
43:18Kevin asks Bernard, “A friend of my recently attended one of your seminars and he said that he learned a great deal. Do you often run seminars? If so, how often and where? Do you still teach students?” Bernard answers Yes (including private students), but his seminars are not regularly scheduled. The listener probably came to a seminar at a RunGood poker Series stop.
45:07Kevin asks his final question to Bernard, “My question is on bankroll management. How much should I build up before I start playing in a tournament or cash game?” Bernard states that players must first appreciate the value of money. Then, he suggests not to play a tournament with a buy-in of more than 2% of your bankroll due to variance.
