Sebastian Huber

After Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis captured his first World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) title earlier in the series, and Parker "tonkaaaa" Talbot added another four to his tally, Sebastian "peace&loove" Huber is the latest Team PokerStars member to become a 2024 WCOOP champion.

Huber has racked up over 50 cashes during the current WCOOP, but none will ever be as memorable as his result in the WCOOP 88-L: $11 H.O.R.S.E. 6-Max because that is the event where Huber captured his second WCOOP victory. Huber last won a WCOOP event in 2022, taking down the $5.50 No-Limit Hold'em 7-Max PKO.

A field of 1,386 generated a $13,582 prize pool, and Huber outlasted them all. The PokerStars ambassador reeled in $2,097 for his victory and a bagfull of WCOOP League points. Like how Veldhuis won his maiden WCOOP title, Huber won his while streaming on Twitch. The main difference was Huber was not dressed like Ali G at the time!

Romania's Vlad "dariepoker" Darie won his maiden WCOOP title on September 25, and what a way to get the proverbial monkey off his back. Darie came out on top in WCOOP 86-H: $5,200 NLHE Super Tuesday and reeled in $132,607 only a few days after helping himself to a $633,000 score in the WSOP Online International festival.

This $5,200 buy-in event drew in 121 entrants who fought it out over the $605,000 prize pool. The top 15 players were paid, with Adrian "Amadi_017" Mateos popping the money bubble when he fell in 16th place.

By the time the final table was reached, the nine surviving players had locked in $17,611 and were only eight eliminations away from that massive top prize.

Carlos "Carlos levis" Ribeiro busted in ninth and was joined on the rail by Samuel "€urop€an" Vousden, Juan "Malaka$tyle" Pardo, leaving only six players in contention to become this event's champion.

Alexandros "Pwndidi" Theologis bowed out in sixth, Vyacheslav "VbV1990" Buldygin of Kazakhstan in fifth before Estnia's "DingeBrinker" ran out of steam in fourth.

Heads-up was set when Simon "C. Darwin2" Mattsson crashed out in third. Mattsson added $79,604 to his lifetime winnings while earning valuable points for WCOOP League wooden spoon contenders Team Spraggy.

Darie then defeated "IAttack95" in the one-on-one battle, thus becoming a WCOOP champion for the first time and the recipient of $132,607; "IAttack95"'s consolation prize was $102,743.
