The Global Poker x PokerNews Cup festival has come to a close with not one but two Freeroll Finales awarding Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins to a select few players.
It brings to a close a 20-day festival combining two massive poker organizations to create stories and crown champions at the online felt.

After four and a half hours of poker on the Global Poker online site, 42 players fell to “MrGoldenPair” in the PokerNews Cup SC Freeroll Finale.
After staying patient, taking the right spots and finding a little help from the deck, “MrGoldenPair” emerged victorious to claim the trophy and a payday of 30,000 Sweeps Coins. After controlling most of the final table, “Pubone258” fell short in second place for an admirable 20,000 Sweeps Coins score.

The freeroll began with 43 players taking their seats to battle in the virtual streets for the afternoon. Making the money was going to be a tough task as only the final nine would go home with a piece of the 100,000 (SC) prizepool.
Luckily for “Boney101” they were able to squeak into the money holding just two big blinds but eventually their day came to an end after losing to the Ace-high chopped pot of “Seat1” and “Guruness”.

For most of the final table, “Pubone258” look poised to take down the tournament after flopping top-two pair vs. “YouWishLoser” and sending them home in eighth place. “Pubone258” then got lucky when they flopped an Ace to crack “Soupernick” and their pocket Queens,eliminating them in sixth place.
The heater did not end there for “Pubone258” after they stacked “Guruness” in an all-in preflop situation. “Pubone258” flopped a two-outer to scoop the pot and “Guruness”.
“MrGoldenPair” began to build momentum after turning an Ace to eliminate “UPayformydogs” in fourth place. They catapulted up to second in chips with 134,680 and allowed “Pubone258” to score the knockouts for them. “Pubone258” had their heater come to an end in heads up play after moving all in preflop with just Queen-high.

After an absolute sprint from start to finish, "Letmedonkyoualil" donked all 44 of their opponents to win the Global Poker x PokerNews Cup Freeroll Finale.
For the win, they will have 20,000,000 GC added to their Global Poker account and have a shiny new champions' trophy to put on their mantle.
The Freeroll Finale came with a 100,000,000 GC prizepool and was an exclusive event to conclude the Global Poker x PokerNews Cup. Only series tournament winners and a select group of players who earned their way into satellites via deep runs in the series were eligible for the tournament.
The final table of nine each earned at least 3,500,000 GC.

It took just over two hours to trim the field from 45 to nine, with the final table taking almost equal time to determine a winner.
The champion entered the final table third in chips among a tightly packed remaining field, then found themselves on the short stack with seven remaining. But with everyone relatively shallow, and after chipping up a bit, “Letmedonkyoualil”’s elimination of “Ufbrown" in sixth place gave them the chip lead.
That lead would trade hands a few times from there, with the eliminations of “TheArtist2” in fifth place and “Abagofblow” in fourth place.
“PolarizedMind” scored that knockout, but not long after, they would fall victim to “Letmedonkyoualil” in third place, giving the champ a roughly 3-2 lead entering heads-up play.

From there, the victory took just one more hand, as on the only hand of heads-up play, the chips went in preflop with “Letmedonkyoualil”’s ace-queen making a better two pair than "Zenrambo"'s ten-nine suited.
The champion claimed their 20,000,000 GC first prize, while “Zenrambo” got 15,000,000 for their runner-up performance.
