What is Short Deck?

Short deck poker, also known as Six Plus Hold'em, is a variant of traditional Texas Hold'em with a smaller deck. In short deck poker, all cards lower than 6 are removed, leaving a 36-card deck.

This alteration significantly changes the game dynamics, as lower-ranking hands become more valuable and the probabilities of hitting certain hands shift.

Commonly played in high-stakes cash games and tournaments, short deck poker requires players to adjust their strategies, with a focus on aggressive play and adaptability due to the increased frequency of strong hands.
