Darren Elias and BetMGM have extended their brand ambassador partnership ahead of the Borgata Spring Poker Open, which will return to Atlantic City, New Jersey from April 29-May 14.

Elias, a four-time WPT champion and all-around high-stakes crusher, has been with BetMGM since 2021. He represents the brand at major poker tournaments and in the BetMGM online poker campaigns.

“BetMGM is proud to extend our partnership with a poker champion of the caliber of Darren Elias,” said Luke Staudenmaier, Director of Poker at BetMGM. “Darren’s talent and passion for poker, along with his dedication to excellence, align perfectly with our brand values. We look forward to achieving new milestones together and continuing to provide top-tier online and live poker opportunities to our players.”

Elias will also continue consulting the company on its online poker and live offerings throughout the United States.

“BetMGM Poker has been a tremendous partner and I’ve been proud to be a part of the company’s growth for the last few years,” Elias said in a statement through Above the Felt Entertainment, a poker marketing firm and talent agency that brokered the deal. “Together, we will continue innovating our online poker offerings and focus on bringing new hybrid online and live poker opportunities to all of BetMGM’s poker and sports markets across the U.S.”

Borgata Spring Poker Open

The Elias deal comes just before BetMGM Poker partners with Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa to host the Borgata Spring Open from April 29-May 14. The series will offer over $4 million in guarantees across 16 days.

The series kicks off with the first of three “anchor events” — the Almighty Million Dollar Kick-Off Event, a $500 buy-in with a $1 million guarantee. The second week will feature a Mirror Mystery Bounty, a $900 tournament that offers mystery bounties that mirror those payouts in the prize pool. The series will wrap up with the Borgata Spring Poker Open Championship, a $2,700 event with a $2 million guarantee. All three anchor events will feature livestreamed final tables.

Several other tournaments will be offered throughout the series, including the Women’s Championship and a Seniors Championship. The Saturday Series also returns for the first weekend with a $100,000 guarantee, and the Deep, Deeper, and Deepest format returns with three special events and $120,000 in guarantees.

In addition to livestreamed final tables of the three weekend events, Borgata will also stream a special $2/$5 NLH event where players can win their spot via the Lucky Seat promotion in the poker room on Wednesday, May 1 and Thursday, May 2.

How to Qualify

Throughout April and May, BetMGM Poker will offer weekly packages, which will include entries to Spring Poker Open events, a Borgata hotel stay, and credit to use at the resort. BetMGM Poker will also have nightly seat-only qualifiers and online registration to most Spring Poker Open events.

Players can win their way to the Spring Poker Open for as little as $2, in addition to seven different opportunities to qualify on-site for the Championship.
