PokerStars and Paddy Power Share Schedule for 2024 Irish Open
After a groundbreaking Irish Poker Open in 2023 that shattered records, poker enthusiasts worldwide are gearing up for another thrilling edition set to unfold from March 25 to April 1, 2024. The festival promises eight days of intense poker action, both on and off the felt, as players converge on the vibrant Irish capital to partake in Europe's oldest poker tournament.
Hosted at the prestigious Royal Dublin Society in Ballsbridge, Dublin, the Main Event boasts a jaw-dropping €1 million guaranteed prize pool. Proudly sponsored for the second consecutive year by PokerStars and Paddy Power, both integral parts of Flutter Entertainment, the event is set to reach new heights.
The collaboration between the two platforms and the Irish Poker Open entails comprehensive promotion, including live streaming of the tournament on PokerStars and Paddy Power channels, mirroring the prestigious PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) events.
Get in on the Cheap
To make the tournament accessible to a broad range of players, online satellites for the 2024 Irish Poker Open are available for as little as €1.10. These satellites, running over three months, offer players the chance to secure their entry to the event at a fraction of the cost. The PokerStars Irish Open satellites guarantee approximately 350 seats, ensuring ample opportunities for players to qualify.
Kicking off on December 17, the satellites feature a remarkable 20 Irish Open seats guaranteed every week starting December 25. The breakdown includes four 'seat only' satellites on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and eight 'seat and expenses' satellites every Sunday. Mark your calendars for Sunday, March 10, and Sunday, March 17, when a mega satellite with a guaranteed 16 seats will take place.
One unique feature of the Irish Open satellite structure is the ability for players to win multiple tickets for the Main Event. Existing qualifiers are not locked out of satellites, and the first ticket won is a must-play. Subsequent tickets earned are credited as 'players choice' tickets, providing flexibility in their utilization.
Additionally, Irish Open Power Path silver passes will be available for redemption in late December. With a value of $2,500, these passes can be converted into a €1,150 Irish Open Main Event entry, a €550 Irish Open side event entry, and approximately €590 in credited expenses.
The 2023 Irish Open Main Event, which witnessed a record-breaking 2,491 entries and a prize pool of €2,428,725, has set the stage for an even more spectacular 2024 edition.
Event organiser Paul O'Reilly said: "Last year, the Irish Open broke all records, and that's certainly down to our amazing partnership with PokerStars. More than 350 players qualified on PokerStars for 2023 - the highest number of players that PokerStars has ever qualified for a partner event.
"PokerStars offers players so many options, with a great mix of seat-only and full-prize packages running several times a week. Last year's winner, David Docherty, won his ticket online on PokerStars for €109 and turned that into a huge €365,000 first prize so it definitely pays to try to win your way into the event and experience the famous Irish Open craic."

Side Events and Innovations
Beyond the Main Event, the Irish Open is introducing a brand-new No Limit Hold’em tournament with a staggering €500,000 guaranteed prize pool. Featuring nine daily starting flights, this tournament boasts the largest guarantee for a €200 buy-in poker event in Irish history.
All side events have undergone structural enhancements, including additional blind levels and increased starting stacks. Pot Limit Omaha enthusiasts can anticipate two new Mystery Bounty PLO events in the Irish Poker Open schedule.
To streamline the player experience, a revamped cash game area with an automated registration system has been introduced. This innovation aims to reduce queues and expedite the process of getting players to the felt promptly.
Cedric Billot, Associate Director of Live Events, said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with the Irish Open in 2024. Players loved the 2023 Irish Open, with plenty of action at the tables and a great time for everyone, and they have come up with some innovations for the 2024 edition, including a great €200 event with a €500,000 guarantee.
"We hope to see many players from all over the world come and experience the Irish Open and discover the great city of Dublin.”
