Triple Crown Winner Niall Farrell Becomes GGPoker UK Ambassador

The GGPoker ambassador stable just gained a new star with the online poker site signing Triple Crown winner Niall Farrell as its UK Ambassador. GGPoker announced Farrell's arrival on Twitter on July 7.

Farrell has come a long way since his first recorded online cashes (in 2008) and opening live results (2010). The man from Dumfries, Scotland, was a regular feature in the Amateur Poker Association & Tour (APAT) in 2011 and won one of APAT's £75 buy-in events for £1,200. Fast forward to today and it is not uncommon to find Farrell tearing it up in €10,000 buy-in events around the world.
To date, Farrell has accumulated $6,522,741 in live poker tournament earnings and more than $3.9 million from the online grind where Farrell is better known as "Firaldo87".
Capturing Poker's Triple Crown
Only nine poker players have secured poker's coveted Triple Crown of titles, that is becoming a champion of a European Poker Tour Main Event, a World Poker Tour Main Event, and reeling in a World Series of Poker bracelet.
Farrell was the eighth Triple Crown winner, enjoying his three victories within two years and one month of one another. Only Jake Cody, at one-year, four months, and 11 days became a Triple Crown winner faster.
The popular Scotsman took down the €5,300 EPT Malta Main Event in October 2015 for a €534,330 score, and followed that up with a victory in the $4,560 WPT Caribbean Main Event in November 2016 for $335,000. Farrell completed the Triple Crown of titles by becoming the €25,000 High Roller champion at the 2017 WSOP Europe festival, a result that came with a career-best €745,287.
A Strong End to the 2022 WSOP?
Farrell went into the 2022 WSOP on the back of a strong of impressive results in the live poker world. He finished sixth in the €5,000 Irish Open High Roller for €25,270, was the 16th place finisher in the €5,300 EPT Monte Carlo Main Event for €41,680, and finished third in the €2,200 UKIPT Dublin High Roller for €14,910. Farrell then took down the €1,100 UKIPT Dublin Main Event for €54,940.
The 2022 WSOP has not been as kind to Farrell. A cash in The Housewarming event and a 12th place finish in the $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em are his only two scores of the series. Farrell busted from the $10,000 Main Event on Day 1b, running ace-king into ace-king and losing.

Farrell's Main Event may be over for another year but there are more than 20 live and online bracelet events for the new GGPoker UK ambassador to get his teeth into. Do not bet against the Scottish star from ending the 2022 WSOP on a high.
