PokerStars To Award Two Platinum Passes During Inaugural Ontario Platinum Series

Two lucky PokerStars Ontario players will get their hands on US$30,000 Platinum Passes by the time the inaugural PokerStars Ontario Platinum Series is done and dusted. The Ontario Platinum Series, PokerStars Ontario's maiden online festival, kicks off on July 10 and runs through to July 18.

Some 90 events adorn the PokerStars Ontario Platinum Series, the first true festival held by any online poker operator in the province. Those 90 events, which cover a range of formats, have combined guarantees of $1 million, with $200,000 of that sum coming from the $300 buy-in Main Event alone.

All monetary amounts are Canadian dollars unless otherwise specified

It would not be a PokerStars online series without some value-packed promotions running alongside it; there are three such promotions for the Ontario Platinum Series.

Ontario Platinum Series Spin & Go

$3 buy-in Spin & Go tournaments hit the PokerStars Ontario client and give Ontarians the chance to win up to $30,000 cash in only a few minutes. These three-handed hyper-turbo tournaments start when three people have bought in. The prize pool is randomly determined before the first hand is dealt, and they play as a winner-takes-all format unless the prize is one of the two biggest.

For example, the top possible payout is $30,000 cash for the winner but second and third-place also lock in $3,000. It is a similar story if there is $3,000 up for grabs; the runners-up take home a $300 ticket for the Ontario Platinum Series Main Event.

Top the Ontario Platinum Series Leaderboard and Bank a US$30,000 Platinum Pass

Every PokerStars players wants to get their hands on a Platinum Pass for the 2023 PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC). Whoever tops the leaderboard at the end of the Ontario Platinum Series will receive such a Platinum Pass and will be heading to The Bahamas to play for a life-changing score.

The points system is simple: finish in the top 25 places of any Ontario Platinum Series event and you earn at least 10 points, Become an Ontario Platinum Series champion, however, and a cool 100 points are all yours.
