Four More Champions Decided in WPT Asia Online as Main Event Gets Underway

Four more players have won their maiden World Poker Tour titles IN the WPT Asia Online, presented by Poker King series. Three progressive bounty events and the Mini Main Event played to it's conclusion whilst the Main Event got underway on November 16.

Event 6: Mini Main Event

Across two Day 1 starting flights, a grand total of 1,496 paid the ¥550 ($86) buy-in to become the Mini Main Event Champion. Just 368 players would progress onto Day 2 where the Day 1 survivors battled it out for the lion's share of the ¥1 million ($156,650) guarantee. When the dust settled, "Xunhuawenliu" walked away as the champion and ¥180,675 ($28,290) richer.

Event 7: PLO Progressive Bounties

"Meng0670" took the PLO Progressive Bounties title after outlasting 547 other players.The ¥220 ($34.50) event was a smash hit and eclipsed its ¥100,000 guarantee, with the final prize pool being ¥120,560 ($18,883). "Meng0670" pocketed ¥23,454 ($3,673) for being the last player standing whilst another 164 players made the money.

Event 8: NLHE Progressive Bounties

The ¥220 ($34.50) NLHE Progressive Bounties Event was even more popular, generating a ¥145,200 ($22,742) prizepool from it's 660 entries. Just over a third (223) of the field would see a return on their investment and it was "AC" who saw the biggest bang for their back. Thanks to winning the fourth progressive bounty event of the series, "AC" etched their name in the WPT history books as well as picking up ¥24,821 ($3,888) for their first-place finish.

Event 9: Main Event Day 1a and 1b

The first two flights of the Main Event have wrapped up with 249 players already booking their place into Day 2. The ¥10 million ($1,566,353) guaranteed Main Event comes with a buy-in of ¥2,200 ($345) and there are bounties of the same value on the Poker King Ambassadors. Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Patrik Antonius, Daniel Dvoress, Steve Aoki and Lynn Gilmartin all took part in Day 1a but it would only be Gilmartin (84,900) who survived the first hurdle.

Five more starting flights remain so there are still plenty of opportunities for players to get their share of the eight-figure prizepool.

Event 10: NLHE Progressive Bounties (6-Max)

"366Giving" struck gold and walked away with the bulk of the ¥166,100 ($26,021) prizepool as well as the title in Event 10: NLHE Progressive Bounties (6-Max). 755 players tried their luck but when all was said and done, "366Giving" triumphed in the fifth progressive bounty event of WPT Asia Online.
