Ali Imsirovic Wins Event #4: $15K NLHE for Second PokerGO Cup Title ($240,000)
Ali Imsirovic has been absolutely on fire throughout the year and continued his heater with another huge win in the PokerGO Cup Event #4: $15,000 No-Limit Hold'em for $240,000.
The PokerGO Tour Leaderboard captain and now the PokerGO Cup Leaderboard captain after winning two titles this festival entered the six-player final table as the table captain and went coast-to-coast with an impressive display including eliminating his final three opponents en route to victory.

Imsirovic has been dominating all year long and remarkably has eight victories included winning PokerGO Cup Event #2 for $183,000 out of his 18 cashes on the 2021 PokerGO Tour for nearly $2.9 million in earnings. This represents five more titles than any other player with 2021 U.S. Poker Open champion David Peters and Sean Perry, closest, but yet far behind, with three victories each.
"You just have to hit a few sets and it works out (laughs)," Imsirovic said with a smile to PokerGO after winning his second PokerGO Cup title. "Obviously, I ran really good. I didn’t play that good early on yesterday, so I had to try a little harder to redeem myself later on."
The event attracted 50 entries generating a healthy $750,000 prize pool. The final table, which took place at the PokerGO Studio at the ARIA Resort & Casino, was broadcasted to poker fans around the world at the subscription-based PokerGO.

PokerGO Cup Event #5 Final Table Action
The final table began with six players but was quickly down to five after David Coleman (sixth - $45,000) jammed ten-eight suited for seven big blinds and didn't get there against the rockets held by Daniel Weinand.
PokerGO Event #1 champion Alex Foxen then sent Mo Rahim packing in fifth place for $60,000 after his ace-seven suited won a flip against pocket fives.
Time then ran out for Foxen in a pivotal hand against Imsirovic. Weinand min-raised with sixes and Imsirovic came along with a call holding jacks. Foxen jammed for more than 30 big blinds with eights and was called by Imsirovic after Weinand folded. The board ran dry for Foxen and he was eliminated in fourth place for $75,000, while Imsirovic extended his commanding chip lead.
Jordan Cristos hung around for a podium third-place finish worth $105,000. Imsirovic jammed with king-trey and Cristos called off his eight big blinds with ace-six. Imsirovic paired up his king and held triple the stack of Weinand at the start of heads-up play.
Imsirovic Wins it With a Set
Weinand battled back during heads-up play and nearly evened the stacks before the final hand took place.
Imsirovic limped with 5♠5♥ from the button and Weinand checked back from the big blind with 8♣3♣. Imsirovic improved to a set on the 6♠5♥7♦ flop and called a min-bet by Weinand who had some hope with a straight draw.
Fireworks erupted after the 2♠ landed on the turn. Weinand bet three big blinds before Imsirovic raised to 12 big blinds. Weinand three-bet to 27 big blinds with 12 big blinds left behind. This went in as well after Imsirovic four-bet shoved.
If Weinand was able to hit one of his eight outs to a straight he would have held a commanding heads-up chip lead. The A♠ that was dropped on the river wasn't one of the cards Weinand needed and was the final player eliminated in second place for $157,500.
Jake Schindler Leads Final 6 Players in PokerGO Cup Event #5: $25K NLHE
The stakes increased from $15,000 to $25,000 at the PokerGO Studio at the ARIA Resort and Casino for the PokerGO Cup Event #5: $25,000 No-Limit Hold'em and the tournament set a new prize pool record for the festival with 36 players generating a $900,000 prize pool.
The opening day ended with all players in the money for at least a $45,000 min-cash after Sergi Reixach couldn't get his sevens to hold on a two big blind jam against the nine-four held by Sean Winter.
While Winter ended the day on a high note and bagged 830,000 in chips, he won't enter the final table as the table captain. That honor will instead belong to Jake Schindler who advanced with 1,435,000 in chips.
GGPoker Ambassador Daniel Negreanu (720,000) and 2021 U.S. Poker Champion David Peters (700,000) also advanced with near-average chip stacks while David Coleman (445,000) and Stephen Chidwick (370,000) also advanced and will aim to spin up their short stacks when the action resumes.

2021 PokerGO Cup Standings
Dylan Linde's reign as PokerGO Cup Leaderboard captain after winning Event #3 was short as he was unseeded by Ali Imsirovic and slipped into second place after the Bosnian won his second PokerGo Cup title. Expect Imsirovic's reign to last longer than that of Linde as it is impossible that any of the remaining players in Event #5 could pass him.
PokerGO Cup Event #1 champion Alex Foxen remained in third place after a fourth-place finish in Event #4, while Event #4 runner-up Daniel Weinand hopped into fourth place on the leaderboard.
Sam Soverel rounds out the top five with cashes in each of the first three events.
