Bert Stevens wins almost $400K at GGPoker

Long time leader “Sambalele” of Brazil has slumped to fifth place in the standings and now has to rediscover his form in the weekly GGMasters tournament. It looked nailed on that Sambalele would finish in first-place, but the recent special edition GGMasters tournaments and the fact they’re seeing a massive number of entrants means four players have overtaken the Brazilian.

“Trey Giorni” of Canada is the new leader and by some margin. The Canadian has 2,782,66 points, a lead of 633.20 going into the final quarter of the year. This lead is mostly because Trey Giorni triumphed in a GGMasters High Roller event and banked $182,888 in prize money.

“Luka Donkbet” is now in second place having been part of the top 10 for almost as long as the promotion has been in play. Canada’s Luka Donkbet won the GGMasters in May and won $67,940. He’s since cashed several more times to boost his POY points tally.

Third-place at the latest update is Israel’s “8ty4calling8”. He soared up the leaderboard this week thanks to becoming the latest GGMasters High Roller champion, They walked away with $150,816 for this victory and a bucket load of leaderboard points.

Another new entrant appears in fourth-place. “Helen Clark”, all the way from New Zealand, won the High Roller GGMasters on September 20 and padded his bankroll with $172,177. They’re now definitely in the hunt for the $500,000 sponsorship package.

What Can You Win in the GGMasters POY Race?

Whoever tops the leaderboard as we see in 2021 walks away with a GG sponsorship package worth up to $500,000. Those finishing in second through 10th place get their hands on entries for every GGMasters tournament taking place next year.

The GGMasters runs every Sunday at 7:00 p.m. CEST. It costs $150 to enter and has $500,000 guaranteed. Oh, it’s also a freezeout tournament so ensure you make the most of your 10,000 starting stack if you do enter this weekend’s event.

There’s also a $1 million guaranteed GGMasters High Rollers each week, although this will set you back $1,000 unless you satellite in or sell pieces of yourself via the in-built staking software.

You can get some practice in for the GGMasters every day by playing in the GGMasters Daily. This $25 buy-in $50,000 guaranteed event.
