Sam Greenwood leads the final 35 players in the WPT Online Championship

With 35 players remaining in the WPT Online Championship on partypoker, it's Sam Greenwood who leads the way in pursuit of the $1,048,088 first-place prize that awaits the winner.

By the time registration closed on the final flight of the WPT Online Championship, there had been a total of 2,130 entries generating a prize pool of $6,390,000, comfortably beating the $5,000,000 guarantee.

Day 2 Recap

398 players made it through to Day 2, with only 312 of them making the money. Reigning WSOP Main Event champion Hossein Ensan, Anthony Zinno, Adrian Mateos and Joao Vieira were all eliminated short of the money before Fabio Sperling was eliminated on the bubble, with the remaining players all guaranteed $5,943.

Notable eliminations in the money included Ludovic Geilich (282nd - $5,943), Sergio Aido (276th - $6,134), Conor Beresford (243rd - $6,326), Liv Boeree (251st - $6,134), Jordan Drummond (239th - $6,326), Niklas Astedt (189th - $6,965), Day 1B Chip Leader Leo Fernandez, Dan Shak (128th - $9,521), Mike Watson (111th - $10,160), Day 1C Chip Leader Dominik Nitsche (109th - $10,160) and Gianluca Speranza (64th - $14,186).

Day 1A Chip Leader Abdelhakim Zoufri (60th - $14,186), Kristen Bicknell (43rd - $16,742) and Matas Cimbolas (37th - $18,595) were among the last few eliminations

Greenwood Leads 35 Survivors

The top of the chip counts is packed with talent, with just over 10 big blinds separating the top five in chips. Sam Greenwood leads from Pascal Hartmann and Max Silver.

Other players still in contention include Ami Barer (2,565,406), Benny Glaser (2,387,788), Orpen Kisacikoglu (2,244,109), Matthias Eibinger (1,824,308) and Martin Jacobson (1,135,335).

Vlad Darie

Vlad Darie (2,065,388) (pictured) and Ema Zajmovic (1,155,290) are the only WPT Champions Club members remaining.
