This week’s PokerStars Sunday Supersonic got the Winter Series treatment meaning it had a larger guarantee than usual. $200,000 was guaranteed but that sum was blown out of the water when 760 players turned out for it and created a $387,235 prize pool.
Everyone at the six-handed final table received a five-figure prize for their effort. Sweden’s Alfred “Kzzon” Karlsson banked $11,374 for finishing in sixth before “DotComRicher” of Canada scooped $16,154.
Belarusian legend “Legenden” finished in fourth for a $22,944 score with Emran “emran86” Hussain collecting $32,586 for his third-place exit.
Hussain’s elimination left “necgaidziai” and Thomas “WushuTM” Muehloecker to fight it out heads-up for the title and the lion’s share of the prize pool. It was Muehloecker who emerged victoriously, banking $65,730 and resigning the runner-up to a $46,280 consolation prize.

The Sunday Cooldown was another PokerStars tournament that was part of the Winter Series this week and it was another one smashing its guarantee. A field of 594 players created a $594,000 prize pool shared among the top 71 finishers.
The final table was a star-studded affair and any of the eight individuals would have made a worthy champion. Fifth-place went to superstar Ole “wizowizo” Schemion who collected $25,014 with bounty payments included. UK's Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford busted one place later for a combined $32,906.
Eventually, heads-up was reached and contested by “hks_dragon” and Gianluca “Tankanza” Speranza, the latter being a double SCOOP Main Event champion. Speranza couldn’t get the job done this time around and had to make do with a prize worth $31,514, leaving "hks_dragon" to collect a combined $109,816.

The biggest partypoker MILLION yet saw 4,953 entries compete for the $1 million prize pool and it ended in a heads-up chop, with the final duo sharing more than $259,000.
“maktub1” was the player credited with the victory and they padded their bankroll with $135,498 while “eL3v3n” walked away with $124,301.
A special mention has to go to fifth-place finisher Travis “DramaticDegen” Darroch who booked a $30,630 win. Darroch was part of a three-way chop of the partypoker MILLION back in November 2019 and won more than $106,000.

Like many tournaments this week, the GG Masters ended in a heads-up chop. “MwonderchilD” of Malta won the tournament and netted $36,794 with China’s “ruael” falling in second-place and winning $40,190, more than the champion!
