Event #1: €350 Opener No-Limit Hold'em
Day 2 of Event #1: €350 Opener No-Limit Hold'en wrapped up with ten players remaining, all looking to become the champion of this new event at the 2019 World Series of Poker Europe. The remaining players are guaranteed a minimum of €2,996 but all have their sights on the €53,654 top prize and the coveted gold bracelet.
Eyal Bensimhon returns in pole position on Wednesday, October 16th, for Day 3. Bensimhon bagged up a stack of 6,800,000 in chips. Bensimhon, with $400,208 in WSOP earnings so far, recently final tabled the €777 WSOP Circuit Lucky 7s here in King’s Resort and will be a serious contender for the gold bracelet. Bensimhon surged to the top of the chip counts with some late wins, including a massive pot against Amato Land for a pot above four million chips.
Bensimhon is followed by Norbert Mosonyi (5,110,000) and the Day 1a chipleader Renat Bohdanov (4,000,000), who stayed on top of the counts all day. Six-time bracelet winner Jeff Lisandro will come back tomorrow as the short stack with 600,000.

The action in Event #1 will pick up again at 2 p.m local time tomorrow and there will be a 15-minute break every three levels until a new champion is crowned.
Event #2: €550 Pot-Limit Omaha
Shaun Deeb (lead picture) has returned to Rozvadov chasing back-to-back WSOP Player of the Year honors. After winning the title during 2018, he's currently in second place behind Robert Campbell but in a great spot to go deep in Event #2 and add more points to his current position.
Considering the fact that neither Campbell nor Daniel Negreanu, who is currently third in the POY race, managed to advance to Day 2 of Event #2: €550 Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed, Deeb has the perfect opportunity to surpass Campbell. Based on WSOP.com's points calculator, and taking into consideration the total number of entries for Event #2, which was 476, the winner of this event will take 836 points, more than enough for Deeb to overtake Campbell.
This won't be an easy task for the four-time bracelet winner as the remaining competition is nothing short of fierce. Day 1b saw the likes of bracelet winners Jeff Madsen (371,000), Sebastian Langrock (355,000) and Anthony Zinno (258,000) all progress to Day 2, where they will meet another bracelet winner in Day 1a advancer Dash Dudley (657,000).
Top 5 after Day 1b
Position | Player | Country | Chip Count |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Shaun Deeb | United States | 947,000 |
2 | Juozas Bizokas | Lithuania | 544,000 |
3 | Ming Juen Teoh | Malaysia | 489,000 |
4 | Ivo Donev | Austria | 466,000 |
5 | Naor Slobodskoy | Israel | 433,000 |
Day 1b tallied 309 entries, almost double the entries of Day 1a, and 26 of them managed to bag chips for Day 2. Except for the aforementioned bracelet winners, Juozas Bizokas (544,000) and Paul Ming Juen Teoh (489,000), along with Deeb, occupy the first three spots in the chip counts.
All big names that failed to advance on Day 1a were here today for another chance, but plenty of new, familiar faces popped up as well. Phil Hellmuth, Manig Loeser, Phillip Hui, Chris Ferguson, Eli Elezra, Viktor Blom, Dzimtry Urbanovich and Erik Cajelais gave it a shot, with the first four names finishing in the money.
Day 2 will start on Wednesday, October 16th, 2019 at 2 p.m. local time, and there will be 38 players hunting the second gold bracelet of the festival. There are 28 minutes left from Level 18 with a 3,000 small blind and a 6,000 big blind, while the level duration will be increased to 40 minutes.
